Hi everyone,

So I'm now filling up the I-864 AOS. I'm kinda confused on how to answer Part 3 #8 and #9. I am petitioning both my parents and I know that I should file separate AOS for each one of them. What should be my answer to those questions? Please help! And should I include a tax transcript or the income tax return copy that I have is enough?

like you i petitioned both my parents and my answer on #8 is YES and #9 - no answer - unless you have a sibling that is below 21 years of age that can go with either of your parents once their petition is approved...

and if you will carefully read #9 it says "Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition."

NBI - is National Bureau of Investigation clearance - it is one of the civil documents that is required from the Philippines (under Police Certificates)...

Does anyone here have any experiences about the RFE (birth certificate) processing times? II sent it a month ago and nothing has changed. I understand that the USCIS has up to 60 days for RFE Response Review. That's too long for a simple birth certificate request.

yes, i wrote their names, case numbers and dob...a vj member told to not push hard when you're writing at the back of the photos - just write lightly with a ballpoint pen...

then just like chris told me, i put my parents' photos in a separate ziplock bag, stapled to a piece of blank paper then i wrote their names, dob, case numbers on the paper again...

chris is ahead of us in this process so he is my go to person when i have questions...he is really helpful!

You will receive the fee letter with instructions to pay the I-864 fee and DS-230 fee.

You will download the I-864 with a bar coded cover letter. The instructions are in the fee letter.

You can download the DS-230 and fill it out and send it to your parent for an original signature. (Scan signature do not count - must be an original signature.

The US Embassy may send out a DS-230 to your parent.

I got an RFE for the birth certificate as well. It took just 1 week after I sent it to CSC and then they I got the approval.

*I-864

*I-485

*copy of my birth certificate showing my Dad's name

*copy of my parent's marriage certificate

*copy of my naturalization certificate

*copy of my US passport

*copy of marriage certificate

*coversheet

*$420 fee

Is this all?

if you are sending off a petition , ultimately hoping for an IR-5 visa,

then take off the I-485 and the I-864.

If you are adjusting status, instead, then you need more stuff besides what's in that list (medical exam, more monies, police clearance certificate, etc)

So, after waiting to finally get my parents marriage certificate to be emailed to me, I noticed that my mom's name is incorrect. It was missing a letter from "Antonieta" to "Antonita". Is this gonna be a problem? I'm only petitioning my Dad and so far, all info are correct in the certificate. Should I hold off submitting my Dad's petition until my mom's name is corrected or just send it away since I'm only petitioning my Dad. Pls advice..

October 29 and 30, 2012 - my parents finally finished their medical at SLEC...

they went to SLEC as early as 4:00 Oct 29 (Monday) and did the following:

-laboratory

-radiology

-vital signs

-immunization interview/tuberculin test

then they were asked to come back with an appointment at 9:00 the next day(Oct 30) for vaccinations...Thank GOD! they both had no issues...
