I-130 for parents?

Hi nanitao! My petition for my parents got approved last August 16th. I called the NVC and they said they received it August 20th, same time I received the 2nd NOA from USCIS. The NVC was able to give me my case number on August 30th over the phone but I have to wait for their email before paying the AOS and assigning an agent. Until now I haven't receive any email from them.

Looking at Rea's timeline, most likely I will receive an email after 30 days.

my case has been completed at the NVC since 08/20/2012, I haven't heard from them since then. Is anyone else in the same boat? I am starting to worry???

just wait, you will receive an email from NVC with a case number for each of your parents and about DS-3032(Choice of Agent), in my case - it was 37 days after the petition was approved...

look at my "about me" page - i have all the details of my petition process to my parents..goodluck!

the opinions that i express in this website are my own and are not legal advise...thank you...

I finally received from the Philippines all the civil documents and filled out and signed ds-230's of my parents. I am now in the process of collecting and reviewing everything before sending it to the National Visa Center.

Question: when you sent the pictures of your parents to the National Visa Center together with the DS-230, did you have their respective names, case number and dob at the back of their photos?

thanks!

I sent I-130 for my parents on 09/12/12 and they recieved it on 09/14/12. They transferred both cases to California Service Center. I got a new notice of action form today and it stated that both cases have transferred again to Missouri on 09/24/12. I am confused.

Why do they transfer it to MO? has anyone here got the same notice? Thanks

uhmmm..excuse me - i did not sign my parent's ds-230...

if you will carefully read my post, it says:

"I finally received from the Philippines all the civil documents and filled out and signed ds-230's of my parents."

meaning I have received from the Philippines all the civil documents and filled out and signed ds-230's of my parents." that means all these came from my parents in the Philippines and that they sent the civil documents including the filled out and signed ds-230's...i hope this is clearer...

probably because it is in English - and it is my second language....

is ok - I have much problems with English; when I read your post it scanned 'that way' to me.

No worries.

Hi everyone,

So I'm now filling up the I-864 AOS. I'm kinda confused on how to answer Part 3 #8 and #9. I am petitioning both my parents and I know that I should file separate AOS for each one of them. What should be my answer to those questions? Please help! And should I include a tax transcript or the income tax return copy that I have is enough?

Thank you so much!

Hi Rea,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and tips. Hope your parents' cases go smoothly and you can welcome them to the US soon.

Please keep posting because your posts have helped me a lot.

I just sent out my parents' package. And there're a lot for me to learn and prepare to avoid any delays.

Rea,

question: what is NBI clearance? How can we get that? my parents are in Viet Nam.

Thank you

The Form I-864 Affidavit of Support is not needed during the initial submission. The Form I-1485 Adjustment of Status is only filed together with the I-130 if your dad is currently in the US.

I haven't applied for a US passport yet so I didn't include a copy of that when I sent my petitions. The Naturalization Certificate will suffice.

So, all I have to fill out is the I-130 along with the other documents? Is that correct?
