you need one coversheet for each case - it will show in the cover sheet the principal applicant's name and case number that should start with MNL - so each of your parents should have a separate cover sheet...

you can generate the coversheet after you paid the AOS fee in this link: coversheet

click print document cover sheet...

goodluck!!

Oh Rea, do I need to submit I-864 for each parent? or 1 for both of them? Sorry so confusing. And your letter of employment, is that the verification of employment letter?

So we received a mail from USCIS saying that the I-130 petitions for mom and dad has been approved and that the approved petition has been forwarded to the National Visa Center.

What to do next?

YES - you need to submit one I-864 for EACH PARENT and if your spouse is also filling out I-864A, one for each parent too....letter of employment is same as verification of employment letter too - please read the important information that you need to know about the letter of employment below: (got this from vjwiki)

Employment Letter

You need to send a proof of Current Employment or Self Employment for affidavits of support form I-864 or I-134. An employment letter is an official verification of employment given by your employer on the company letter head signed by HR or other corporate person in your company. You may use below template to instruct your employer to generate letter on company letterhead.

1. Letter should be typed on company letterhead.

2. Letter must be dated.

3. Letter must be signed and that person's title must be listed.

4. Letter must include the dates employed.

5. Letter must have wage/hour translated in salary/year.

6. Letter must have the type of work done.

good luck!!

Hello Everyone:

Been trying to read as many posts as possible to learn about how to file for my Parents living in India.

Is it true then that its taking roughly 5 months for the petition to get approved before the application is moved to NVC for processing and that it takes another 6 months for the interview dates?

I am almost ready to send out the package. Am I sending it to the Chicago address? Please let me know.

Can you review all the documents that I will be sending and if all looks good:

Make sure that YOUR birth certificate has both your parent's name on it and it's translated into English.

You DON'T need the following items with the initial I-130 submission, although you will need most of them later

G-325a form for my Mother & Father (won't need this at all)

G-325a form for myself (petitioner) (won't need this at all)

Mother & Father's birth certificate copy

Mother & Fathers's passport copy

Mother & Father's Passport photo (2)

Petitioner Passport photo (2) (Won't need this at all)

You don't need your parent's marriage certifcate for your mother's application, only for your father's.

Hope this helps.

Yes that helps. Assures me that I have the right amount of papers and remove what are not necessary in this stage.

Any idea how long is it taking for Parents in India to get their Interview and hopefully the approval?

Mike and Lilly is correct, another thing that you need to submit too is a copy of your marriage certificate if your name has changed....

other than that - looks like you're good to go!

goodluck!

I got an email from NVC today that they finally received the DS-3032(Choice of Agent and Address) and to quote:

So you are sending all those civil docs and DS-230 to NVC rea? Thanks for updating us all the time. This is a really great guide for me. I'm still waiting for my tax transcripts and i will be mailing them everything as soon as i get it.

Oh and that $230 each that's what we pay for the interview right? Or there's another fee for the interview?
