Dear All,

this is my first post, I have a couple questions to ask

1. I'm a US citizen and I'm filing an application for my spouse from Taiwan,

I filed forms 130, 485, 765 and 131, I received the 797 form of action for

130, 765 and 131 but not for I-485, is 485 processed in a different facility?

is it normal to receive the NOA separately? my I-485 is missing some documents

2. how long does it take for the I-797 to arrive, my 130, 765 and 131 forms came within 7 days,

it's been 13 days for my 485, I called and they said to wait 30 days, am I just too impatient?

3. does the form I-131 depend on I-485, my wife needs to leave the country in September,

was hoping that she can do so. Does the I-131 form come down after the finger print for I-485?

or is there no dependency between these forms.

4. I also just moved to a new home with my wife for the first time, I did change my address

with USCIS, but I didn't forward my address from the post office since I heard in the past

some mails do get losted, I'm currently going back to my old address and checking mail,

should I go ahead and forward my address, or should I keep checking my old address,

checking my old address for 30 days is a pain.

5. if I don't receive the I-797 within 30 days, I know I should call in, but if they keep

telling me to wait and check the mail, if my wife needs to leave the country and abandon the

application...I'm not sure what I can do about it.

any suggestions?

Hi there, I can answer a few of your questions as best I can... see below, hope it helps!

Dear All,

this is my first post, I have a couple questions to ask

-----------------------> It is normal to receive separate NOAs for each form. Did you include a g-1145 on top of EACH form? If yes you should have received emails. Not sure what you mean when you say your I-485 is missing some documents. All my NOAs came at the same time.

2. how long does it take for the I-797 to arrive, my 130, 765 and 131 forms came within 7 days,

it's been 13 days for my 485, I called and they said to wait 30 days, am I just too impatient?

-----------------------> I think it depends where you are. It took us over 2 weeks to get our hard copies but we got 3 separate emails ( for I-130, I-485 and 765) within a couple days.

3. does the form I-131 depend on I-485, my wife needs to leave the country in September,

was hoping that she can do so.

-----------------------> We moved 2,000 miles last month.. did change of address to a PO Box BOTH through the post office and through USCIS. No problems for us, our mail is being forwarded here. But apparently it is up to the mail man to forward mail to new address so I can see potential problems. We changed address individually for all important things (banks, insurance, and of course through USCIS).

5. if I don't receive the I-797 within 30 days, I know I should call in, but if they keep

telling me to wait and check the mail, if my wife needs to leave the country and abandon the

application...I'm not sure what I can do about it.

-----------------------> Is your local USCIS office nearby so that you can schedule an InfoPass appointment? Sometimes not much comes out of those but they could be useful... I keep thinking what those "missing documents" are that you mentioned

any suggestions?

I'm missing the biometrics fee for I-485

I received all my receipts for all 4 documents via email since I had G-1145 for all files

I just received a biometrics appointment, odd that they setup an appointment even

though I didn't send in the biometrics fee. I'm assuming the biometrics can be used for all 4

applications, this one was specifically for my I-765

I'm still waiting for my I-485 I-797C arrive with what I need to do to pay the biometrics.
