Hi I am actually new on here I hope someone will be able to help me out here,

I came into the country in 2008 as an F-1 and listen to a couple of friends and i got

arrested with 4 counts of using someones credit card all charges were dropped in court

and i was charged with receiving and concealing stolen property since then have not been in

any trouble.

I got married begging of this year to my sons mum we have a child together he will be 3 this year

i already went for my biometrics early one and now just waiting i do have an attorney who told me

will likely not have any problem. My worry is that aside that incident i went ahead and worked off

campus.

Has anyone had an issue like mine or have any advice also i filed F-1 to Permeant resident through

marriage my wife is a county employee a very high person in the county how will that also play out thank you

Your wife's work has absolutely nothing to do with this process, aside from her income probably making things easier for you - unless she's HIllary or Michelle.

That being said, your previous record most likely won't be an issue, but you do have to be honest about it, as well as about the unauthorized employment. Make sure you have all the papers and documents regarding your arrest, prosecution, charges being dropped, etc. and make sure you answer the questions regarding past arrests honestly. You can explain yourself more in the interview.

Just make sure if the form (whatever forms you fill out) if asked about it you answer honestly.I know on the N400 citizenship they ask questions like that .I am guessing you will be filing the I-130.i am not familiar with that form but either way they do a background check and will be able to see those records if they are public records and not sealed.
