I've been looking at various moving companies and it looks like FedEx of all places is going to work out the cheapest.

Has anyone filled out the CBP 3299? I have a few questions

I found this thread in the Canada forums which answered some of it, but ...

Do I just 'hand this' to the driver when he comes to collect? or Have I got to get some kind of arrangement in place for them to be able to sign Part 5, the carriers certificate

Second, do I have to attach a copy of this to each box?

I'm confused!

Thanks!

Sorry to bump, but, anyone?

I guess nobody knows the answer. My husband's stuff came on a boat in a container and CBP Houston didnt make us do the form. Why don't you ring up FedEx to ask what the requirements are?

Each time I call someone, I keep getting a 'no you'll need to sort that with US customs' speech. Maybe a mod would be able to move this to the moving to the US forum and they might be able to assist better.

I found this document that has helped a bit. If nothing else it provided me a "power of attorney" allowing my mother-in-law to bring our things through customs on our behalf (Our things arrive before we do).
