Just an update on Dan's interview.

His interview was for 7:00 a.m. He arrived at 5:45 a.m. There were 13 people there already. At 7:15 he was told to come inside. He was told to open the white envelope and xray envelope from the clinic. The guard gave him his blessings and said you look prepared and will get ur visa. He was given a yellow tally with the #IV13. He waited in the lounge and was called by a man and he asked him to give him the white envelope and the brown envelope. He was asked to give him a current police clearance. Dan gave him the imm. shot records. He was asked to be seated and shortly a lady called him and she asked him to place his right and left index fingers on a slide for his prints, she asked him to swear that he would be truthful and he did. He was asked to go wait.

They called him at 11:15 for his interview. The lady asked the following questions:

The lady said most people that came for their interviews didnt have pics of their wedding. She told him you came prepared. She asked him who helped him get prepared with all the info and he stated my wife. She asked him how long we knew each other and he said almost 2 yrs.; she wanted the exact date we met and what chat room we met at and he told her. She asked for the first email he sent me and he showed her. She asked for photo albums and he have her the first one and she looked thru about 5 pages of pics. While looking at the pics she asked him how many were at our ceremony and he told her around 50 and she said that many. She wrote something in his file. She told Dan I will issue a visa to u. She said I must say this to you. She said I have never trusted nigerians coming under the guise of marriage. I said what, what the hell did she say that for, but anyway, it doesnt matter he was approved. She also told him I trust you. So glad of that. Just think she denies alot of visas cos she thinks all nigerians are fraud, what a bunch of #######. So look out for the white lady. LOL

Thats all she asked for, no current W2, employ. ltr., phone records or proof that he's on my insurance. I even had a current AOS done.

Anyway, thats the story and I hope this helps anyone having a interview soon that is going with the CR1 visa.

Thank you everyone for the congrats and with any info. you have helped us thru with this yr.

Great info!

I think the consular officer saying that about Nigerians is something that should be reported. That she just came out and said it means there is a lot of damage being done to peoples' lives. Think of all the consular officers who don't speak about their prejudices but act on them. Once all is set and he has his case complete, you might want to report on this person.

Anyway, don't mean to put a damper on the joy. Congrats!

My husband is Nigerian as well. We went through the Madrid, Spain embassy. I (the USC) was interviewed before he got his K1 visa, and the lady said that to me, as well as a lot of other really biased unenlightened things. It was an awful experience, and the things she said made me sooo mad. Yes, there is a lot of fraud. But there is also real love too.

Oh, but I forgot the most important part----Hooray for you! You got the visa, and you can begin life as husband and wife for real! Savor the feeling---it is wonderful!
