How long it takes for Green Card to arrive?

My sister arrived to California on spouse visa in April. She received her SSN but has not yet received her Green Card. Can someone tell me how long she should wait for it? And is there some way she can find out why its taking so long?

IR-1/CR-1

2008-12-24 - Marriage
2009-03-12 - I-130 Approved
2009-05-29 - Pay IV Bill
2009-09-30 - Case Completed at NVC
2009-10-14 - Packet 4 Received
2009-11-16 - Interview Date

Interview Result - Approved
2010-01-09 - US Entry
Port of Entry - JFK

Lifting Conditions

CIS Office - Vermont Service Center
Date Filed - 2011-10-08
Date Approved - 2012-07-30
Green card received - 2012-08-01

Citizenship

N400 filled - 2013-08-09
NOA - 2013-08-12
Biometrics -2013-09-05

She should have received it by now. It should take no more than 8 weeks...

Did you receive a confirmation that her green card was being produced? If so, that should be your baseline.

Take an info pass appointment with local USCIS office and talk to them. :thumbs:

Will tell her to do so.

She should have received it by now. It should take no more than 8 weeks...

Did you receive a confirmation that her green card was being produced? If so, that should be your baseline.

There is a 1-800# 1 can call and enquire. I dont know it off hand, I'm sure a google search will lead to it. There is a certain amount of time 1 has to wait before they will do anything----again, not sure what that time period is, 90 or 120 days! yes normally people get the card within 8 weeks, but in rare occasions, not so fortunate....but until your past that magical # of days....they will not do anything

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
