Ok now that we have received our NOA2 and waiting for our case number, I'm gathering all my information for my fiancee so I can submit it to her.

So I'm wondering what couriers everyone are using to send a copy of the i129f package and the i134 with supporting documents to the Philippines.

I'm looking for something safe (won't get jacked once it arrives in the PI), reliable (will get there under 2 weeks), and will not cost more than the visa fee. HAHA.

Is there a favored courier among VJ members to use since these are important documents?

Thanks in advance.

use DHL they have a major hub in HK that has direct flights to the US you can track your shipment via their website. Fedex is also reliable but they have so many major hubs in the US that delays your document. Fedex however can give you a timeline when your document will reach the destination but DHL is much faster.

I live in Eastern NC. I sent my fiance a package of Documents using DHL. The cost was a little over $48.00. The package was picked up on a Friday afternoon and it arrived at her location in Malabon City on Monday afternoon her time. Hope this helps.

We just used DHL last week after having some issues with Fed Ex two weeks before. I shipped from Denver Colorado last Thursday the 12th. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday Tuesday the 12. DHL classified our documents as taxable items due to this mistake they rescheduled the delivery for today. The DHL courier was confused about Katherine's address and called her at just after 6:00 pm and asked for directions again. Katherine ended up meeting him at a nearby mall around 9:00 pm.

Once these packages arrive in manila the sky is the limit as far as how and when they will be delivered. Just be prepared for anything and try not to be shocked if something out of the ordinary happens. I don't think our situation was handled very professionally but I will say that the DHL courier met Katherine on his off duty time to insure that she received the package since it was already one day late. He met her at the mall with his girlfriend accompanying him. I wasnt very comfortable with her going out so late in the rain... In the end she received the documents in good order.

I heard good things about DHL that's why I chose them.

But this isn't how I imagined it being delivered...

Good luck,

Jesse

Thank you all for the responses. I've heard everything from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Johnny Air. It sounds like people have had good success with DHL so I'll try them out. I guess i was overestimating the size and weight of the documents so it was saying that my shipment was going to cost like $150-$250. $50 doesn't seem so bad.

Thanks again. It's really appreciated.

As mentioned, DHL or FedEx are the most reliable couriers.

But whatever you do...please, stay away from USPS/PhilPost. Sending from U.S. via USPS is fine...the package is tracked to the Philippines in a reasonable amount of time. But from my personal experience, it takes forever from Manila to final destination. PhilPost is very unreliable. IMHO, it is much better to spend now sending it right, than to spend later trying to remedy the situation.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I used FedEx three-day express. I sent one package to Bacolod, Negros Occidental. I sent the other package to Manila. Both times the packages arrived in three days.

And for goodness sakes, listen to Markieboy! Never ever send your documents via USPS/Phil Post. You've been warned.

I use DHL ALL the time. It is quick and efficient. I want to reiterate what another op has said. Once it gets to Manila it could take 1-7 days to get to her, it all depends on where she lives. My fiance is from Compostela Valley, Mindanao. They have a certain schedule when they deliver their because it is out in BFE so to speak. So they call her and ask if she wants to pick it up or give her the day when it can be delivered to her. Usually on average she goes down to Davao to pick it up, and she makes a day for her out of it.

BUT NEVER EVER ON YOUR LIFE SHIP STUFF USPS/PHILPOST THERE. I ordered a watch for her on amazon. The company shipped it USPS International, which goes to Philpost once it gets to Manila. It literally took 3-4 weeks to get to her. Also Philpost is known for stuff to "VANISH" in the box before it gets to the destination.

Never seen DHL in the Philippines all the years I've lived here.

Most people just use USPS to Philpost.

If you are really concerned, you can use Air21 via FedEx. But it will cost you like $50 just to send paperworks here.

Well it seems to be quite obvious that you don't know everything. Here is a link that shows DHL is definitely in the phillipines.

Can't believe no one mentioned Johnny air. There are threads in this forum about their speed, reliability, and how they are cheaper than the ones mentioned. www.johnnyair.com

Never used them myself, but have seen many on here bragging about them!
