When you become a USC what happens with the AFP? (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administradoras_de_Fondos_de_Pensiones)

Is possible that you can retrieve all the money you have in there?

I think if you will not be citizen of that country they should give you back your money, right?

I hope somebody can explain me about this.

It all depends on the country, I'm not sure about Peru but in Colombia you can still invest in your pension account from a foreign country and cash it in when you reach your retirement age even if you become a US citizen since you still retain your Colombian citizenship. You will have to call them to find out how the handle that process.

I'm not sure which of those countries force you to relinquish citizenship, but I know that Mexico allows you to remain a dual citizen, so there are some who choose to return eventually and retire in Mexico.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

My husband contacted his AFP and they told him that once he becomes a USC, he will be able to transfer the money in his Peruvian fund to his US fund by showing proof of naturalization. This is not contingent on relinquishing Peruvian nationality in any official way, but rather on residing in and being a citizen of the US. We haven't done it yet, but that's what they told him anyway.

Well i hope it would be as you say, that would be so much better. i will figure it out later, if you get any update on this, let me know :)
