Hello guys, my parents have been on immigrant petition since the 80s, it took so long that I aged out lol.

Anyway my question is for my dad, he has worked overseas in another country for 20 years (embassy/consulate related job) and to my knowledge he only has the police clearance in our country but not the other country which he worked at. Does he need to get a police clearance from there?Because he didnt yet. Their priority date has retrogressed as the f4 for feb89 has not moved in 2 mos

My mother told me they have sent all their documents to the u.s. or to the petitioner (my aunt). I don't know much about this whole process.

I tried to search for this here in VJ forums but I havent been lucky. I would appreciate the help thank you in advance. :luv:

He will need police records for the other country as well, if he lived there for more than 6 months.

On a completed unrelated subject, have you considered acquiring US citizenship in which case, it would make their process jump to the top of the pile and they would not need to wait for a visa.

I dont understand if you asked me a question (sorry).

By the way my mom said they sent their documents to the u.s. already. Is it possible he can just get the clearance now and just bring it to the interview?

Sorry I really dont know a lot about the family visa (F4).

Depending on where they are in the process, chances are he will be asked to bring the police records to the interview at the consulate.

I misunderstood your initial post. I thought they were still waiting for a visa to come to the US. Mea culpa.
