Does your comment invalidate mine? No. Guns, illegal or legal, are used for wrong far more than they're used for right.

Baseball bat was also used in the crime or can be used to kill someone, should we ban those too?

How about knife... there are hundreds of ppl stabbed even in country where guns are strict or banned, should knife be banned too?

Okay, you're clearly not understanding me. Or you're purposefully being difficult.

I absolutely said that legal gun owners snap and kill their families, coworkers, etc every day. It's a fact. It happens. Guns that were supposed to be used for "self defense" often get used for something else. I said if only all legal gun owners were like the one in the story. They aren't.

I also said that illegal guns are a problem.

I don't like guns personally, but I am NOT against other people having guns. If only they always got used for their intended purpose. Unfortunately, they do not.

What are you arguing with me about, exactly?

True, there are no exact numbers. But I find it hard to believe that of the crime that takes place in the US every day, all the guns used are illegal.

The only stat you can really find are for states that have conceal carry permits for people who want to carry for self defense. Apparently Texas in 2009 had a crime rate for such carriers of .015%

Gun violence is a major issue in the United States - whether the guns are legally obtained or not. So for all those people who come out the hero at the end of the day by defending themselves or their homes, there are plenty more who used it to terrorize someone, murder someone, kill someone, whatever.

Like I said, unfortunately, people who obtain these guns for the right uses do end up using them for the wrong ones.

It's sad, but it's inevitable and there's hardly a way to control it if guns are so easy to get.

Please check your facts countries where Guns are not available there is no less violence, ppl get stabbed beaten, choked, dismembered and ppl get killed its just different way.
