Do we need to see a doctor again??

Hey VJers!! My husband and I need some clarification. We are trying to get our paperwork together to file for AOS and we are not sure whether or not we need to do a medical exam again! There are several places on these forums where it says that if it is within a year of his medical, he only needs to get a partial review while other places say it's not necessary at all unless we receive an RFE. What is right?? He is well within his year, has all of his necessary vaccinations, and we have the copy of the DS3025 vaccination record...but don't want to pay to see another CS if not necessary. Help!! Thank you in advance! :)

We went to a Civil surgeon who

1.transcribed the Vaccination records

2.listened to my wife's heart.

3. drew blood for a Syphillis blood test

4. Gave her a TB skin test.

I believe that only #1 was required for the CS documentation that was needed since it had only been 2 months since my wifes' physical at Manila.

He called that visit a Physical and charged us $115. NOTE: I figured out how to get re-imbursed by my Company's insurance for this $115 (UHC).

The CS returned a sealed envelope to us which we sent in with our AOS package.

We received or EAD/AP and have NOT received an RFE.

I believe that finding a Civil Surgeon in your area that KNOWS K-1 would be they key to simplifying this process.

Correct, only #1 was required. We had to shop around until we found a doctor that knew what he was supposed to do. Some other doctors got upset when I told them that I didn't need the whole exam ("I am the doctor, I know what you need"). We paid $50, which IMHO was even too much for a secretary copying some numbers from a form intro another.

Technically you only need the vaccinations transcribed if your vaccination sheet is not marked complete. You need a complete medical if your medical is over a year. Some people have sent in vaccinations sheets from their medical examine which they think was not marked as complete and gotten their green card. Others have received an RFE for it. Check your vaccination sheet, is it marked complete? If it is, then you do not need a civil surgeon. If its not marked as complete, you can see if the officer will pass you without requiring it, and risk the RFE delay, or you can get the transcription and know you should fly through at least that part.

If the medical was less than a year ago, and he has all the required vaccinations marked off on the DS-3025, then just send a copy of the DS-3025 with your AOS paperwork and skip seeing a civil surgeon.

I just wanted to add that the DS-3025 does not have to be marked as complete. So long as you have all the required vaccinations marked off on your DS-3025, it can read 'incomplete and may be eligible for blanket waiver' and still be good to go as is. i didn't have to do it again. i had the copy of the document, it was incomplete but marked as age inapropriate + not required+ not flu season. they accept it like that if you got a waver on it that doesnt need the vaccinations to be made in usa after moving
