Hi everyone,

I have my EAD but my green card is still pending. I 'm passing job interviews now and they are asking me what is my status now. It seems that I am an alien with a work authorization. Problem tho, my alien number seems to be a little old now, it's been 8 months that I arrived in the U.S.

Does somebody my status now?

Your status is exactly what you said: "Alien with work authorization". Don't think I understand your alien number been old. There is no such thing as been old, and your alien number was assigned when a petition was filed on your behalf.

As far as work is concerned, your EAD is as good as a Green Card, most jobs that are possible for you with a GC are also open to you with an EAD, I believe.

Furthermore, as long as your I485 is pending, they will always renew your EAD. Your A# number is not going to change when they give you a GC. The one that was allocated to you in the beginning and appeared in your NOA1 is the same one that will appear in all your USCIS stuff, including your GC. Like an SSN, it doesn't get old.

[02/22, 2017]  - DAY 001  (day 1826) (N-400) Mailed package to Lewisville, TX, via USPS overnight

[01/10, 2018]  - DAY 323  (day 2149) (N-400) Naturalization Oath Ceremony (5 years, 10 months, 19 days)

[01/10, 2018]  - DAY 001  (day 2149) (US Passport) Applied for US Passport, regular processing

01/25, 2018]  - DAY 015  (day 2164) (US Passport) Passport in hand (5 years, 11 months, 3 days from start of Journey.)

 

AOS, N-400, & PASSPORT FOR DAUGHTER [OF HUSBAND TO USC]

[06/14, 2013] - DAY 001 Mailed package to Chicago Lockbox via USPS overnight
[11/21, 2013] - Day 153 SSN and 10-year GC in hand

09/01, 2021]  - (day 3001) (US Passport) Passport in hand (8 years, 2 months, 18 days from start of Journey.)

Ok thank you guys I feel better. Was just thinking that my alien number wasn't good anymore because it was stamp on my I94 when I first came. This I94 was good til february I think.

Your I-94 does not have your alien number on it. Your alien number was issued to you when you applied for AOS - you can find it on your NOA.

03/11/2011 - Day 8 - NOA 1 received for all 4 forms

03/21/2011 - Day 18 - Biometrics letter received, biometrics scheduled for 04/14/2011

03/31/2011 - Day 28 - Successful walk-in biometrics done

05/12/2011 - Day 70 - EAD Arrived, issued on 05/02

06/14/2011 - Day 103 - E-mail notice: Interview letter mailed, interview scheduled for July 20th

07/20/2011 - Day 139 - Interview at Federal Plaza USCIS location

07/22/2011 - Day 141 - E-mail approval notice received (Card production)

07/27/2011 - Day 146 - 2nd Card Production Email received

07/28/2011 - Day 147 - Post-Decision Activity Email from USCIS

08/04/2011 - Day 154 - Husband returns home from abroad; Welcome Letter and GC have arrived in the mail

("Resident since" date on the GC is 07/20/2011
