need help regarding packet 4

i need urgent help regarding packet 4. I had sent in my packet 3 to vfs new delhi through email. In packet 3 i mailed them DS230 part 1 and applicant's statement. Prior to submission i had comfirmed with vfs if they needed thr passport size photographs with packet 3, to which they said it was not required. I had sent tje documents on june 28 n recieved confirmation reciept from US embassy on july 2,2012.

It has been 2 weeks but i have not recieved any interview date so far. I called vfs but they have no infotmation. I even called DOS n they say that the embassy has recieved my packet 3 documents but no interview date has been assigned.

I had not recieved the packet3 earlier...seems like it got lost in the mail..now i am afraid that i may not even recieve packet 4.

Q) is it mandatory to send passport size photograph with packet3? Could this be a cause for delay in scheduling my appointment?

Q) I would like to know how much time does the new delhi US embassy takes to schedule an appointment?

My case is at Mumbai. We did not send any photographs. It took us almost 3-4 weeks to get an letter from embassy. Calling VFS is useless they have standard answer, wait for so and so time.

How did you submit your packet 3? Best way is to deliver in person.

Sometime they do not send Packet 4, you will need to download it from website (http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/ivdocforms.html) directly and contact VFS via email for appointment letter. Please keep checking website (http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/visa_interview_dates.html) for interview date and time. If your interview date is not mentioned in JULY and AUGUST month then contact immediately to VFS center. If your interview date is mentioned in PDF file, then you will need to send an email for requesting an appointment letter Or, if August appointment PDF file has not been updated yet then please wait for few days.
