My fiance is a national of Morocco but is currently in Italy with an valid Italian work visa. He wants to apply for a US tourist visa. Can he do that in Italy or would he have to apply from Morocco? Would there be any additional difficulties if he applied from Italy?

I also need to ask if he would be able to apply from France?

Thank you for your help.

If it matters, we've already applied for the K-1 visa through Casablanca and are waiting for it to process. I don't know if that will affect our need to prove that he intends to comply with the B-2 rules and leave before the expiration of his visa. We are just hoping for a chance to see each other before the K-1 is completed.

He can apply for a visa in Italy, where he resides.

As stated before he can apply in Italy or France, having filled for his K-1 makes it unlikely they will approve a visitors visa. I have only read of one Moroccan who was approved for immigration visa out of Europe back in 2006. K-1 is normally viewed and processed as an immigration visa because of the high visa fraud rate in Morocco. Recently the trend has been that all Moroccans living in Europe are asked to return to Morocco for the interview. After reading your story just curious have you seen him since Feb 10? Meeting in person in the last two years is a requirement of the K-1 visa. Good luck on your journey keep us posted, we are always rooting for positive outcomes.

What is his connection with France.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
