I am so blessed to have found this woman. The absolute best two years of my life. Every day is an adventure and joy to spend with your best friend and wife. This year will be Removal of Conditions, complete adoption of step daughter, and plan trip to the Philippines next year.

Lol - step daughter is getting too Americanized. When we talk to friends in the Philippines, they say she has an American accent.

How old is your stepdaughter? My hubby is filing for me and my son. I hope my 3 yo son will get used to AMERICA :)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.]1st Cor 13: 4-7

My stepdaughter was 16 years old on July 6th. She was advanced one year in high school and will graduate at 16. She is 100% adjusted.

Don't worry, he will get used to America very quickly. If you're not careful, in a few years he will forget his Tagalog and he will be answering you only in English.

Oh no.. as much as possible i want him to keep speaking tagalog and English. HIs granpa and granma will be so sad if he fails to speak Tagalog at some pt :)

Most of the Pinoy kids at that age who come to the U.S. either forget their Tagalog, or they understand some of it, but they won't speak it.

Chinook's nephew came to the U.S. when he was six years old. Of course, he could speak Tagalog at that time. However, now he's 11 years old and he understands everything in Tagalog but he says he can't speak it. His parents are both Pinoy and they speak to him in Tagalog, but he answers them in English.

A three-year-old Pinoy who comes to the U.S., and whose parents are Fil-Am, has about a five percent chance of speaking fluent Tagalog when he grows up.

Almost guaranteed that will be an issue. My wife only speaks in Tagalog to Des. However everything else in her life is English. All of her school day, conversation with friends, night out at the movie, books etc. My wife says that Des's Tagalog is not as good as it was. I asked Des what language she "thought" in, and she told me "English". In fact when we talk to our other daughter in the Philippines, Des always speaks English, and makes her sisters ears bleed. (lol).
