Hi guys

So as you can see, like many other fine VSC folks, I'm still waiting for the elusive NOA2, but I am moving on Saturday of this week. How do I deal with the change of address? We are so close to NOA2, do I just let it get bounced back after I move and just rely on the email that may or may not come? Will mailing a letter at this point help? Will it even get to my file?

Thanks for any advice.

Unfortunate timing. I've known many who put in change of address that didn't prevent NOAs or even greencards from going to the wrong address. Mail from USCIS won't be forwarded. You won't be slowed down from the process because you should get the email to know it's approved, then calling NVC will let you know how it's going there. However, you will 100% want to get that NOA2 document because a photocopy of it goes in with your Adjustment of Status application. If you don't get it because it was returned as non-deliverable you'll have to chase it down and try to get them to send again. Keep on top of it so you have it for AOS. Call the USCIS number now and explain the situation and ask what they suggest at this last minute change.

If it doesn't get changed, you won't get the letter from NVC saying your petition has been forwarded to London. You won't need that letter for anything. You can get the info about your LND number they assign over the phone.

Thanks SO MUCH for your advice. I know it's going to be a pain, but not moving is not an option, so I'll starting chasing it ASAP. Thanks again!

Be sure and use the words "I never received my approval notice because you didn't get my address changed". If you just say "I need a replacement", well that costs around $350. Make it their fault. Do call the number to report the change and tell them you have a pending case.
