My interview in Montreal for my CR1 visa is scheduled for August 15th. I just went on the DOS website under the 'Prepare for your visa interview abroad' to register for courier service. I put in the info they wanted (passport # and DOB) and my name popped up. I registered for courier service only as my interview date was already scheduled by NVC. However, it states on my account info page on the DOS site that 'no interview is scheduled.' Should I be concerned? Should I contact them about it? I was able to register for courier service, but the no interview date scheduled has me a bit worried. If anyone can answer my question I would be very grateful.... thanks!

Hi there! We just had our interview July 9 in Montreal, and i believe our paper said the same thing. As long as there is a reference ID # on your DHL confirmation page, and you bring the interview letter from the NVC with you, you'll be fine :)

Hope this helps!

Don't worry whatsoever, this is normal for IR-1/CR-1 visa applicants. The CSC site doesn't know about your interview date as it was scheduled by NVC. Only K1 visa applicants (and those that re-scheduled) would see their interview dates on the CSC site as they actually schedule their own interviews through the site.

As long as you successfully signed up for courier services, then you're good to go! Just print out the applicant summary page that contains your reference ID number and bring it with you to the interview (no letter, no interview).

This is exactly what happened when I registered for DHL as well. I printed the confirmation page and was asked for it first when I got to the doors of the consulate. They place a sticker with the reference number from your DHL registration on the back of your passport. There were people turned away that day because they didn't have it.

Hi Saylin - I've seen you post on almost every topic so I though replying to your message here might be the best way to get a straight answer.

I wanted to know if I need to re-register for DHL services. I read on VJ that if I wanted my married name on my green card and visa I'd have to have my passport changed to my married name. I did this (received it today) but just realized that I already registered for the courier services in my old passport. Is this a huge issue? Will I need to re-register or will I be OK leaving it as is?

Hmm, I'm thinking yes, you need to re-register as your new passport has (or should) a different number, as well as a different last name. But don't ask me how to re-register as I've never heard anyone having to do it before laughing.gif You can try contacting the consulate in Montreal, explaining your situation and see what they say. You could also try contacting CSC directly and asking them on what to do.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
