So from what I'm reading I'm understanding that you still haven't gotten approved...and if you haven't gotten approved from USCIS there is no way your going to get a interview for august...you still have to go through NVC stage!!!

If you get approved mid august most likely you are looking at october interview. First of all the case still have to go NVC, and lately it's been known to take a month before they get it. Then Kyiv would need to enter it into their system. Usually the scheduling in Kyiv is not bad at all, when we were going thru mine, they offered us interview next day, but we didn't had police certificate yet so we couldn't do it.

So praise yourself to a wait....

Ron,

It looks like your K-1 would be approved by mid August according to your timeline. As far as NVC is concerned, you might have been seeing the summer vacation slow down lately. Unless she has one of those names that causes problems, I would expect a two week turnaround from NVC. However, the embassy is a totally different story as it really depends on the overall number of various visa applicants. You could be looking at mid to end of September for the interview. The visa would take about a week all together for Sveta.

So just go and enjoy yourself and don't worry about Sveta having to fly alone. Think of it as the beginning of her adventure. It is more important that you insure her Point of Entry into the USA is where you will meet her. Just give her lots of confidence that she can fly here without any problems. Go over the custom forms she will need to fill out before she lands to make sure she is comfortable. If she flies from Kyiv, she can get a number of flights that will have only one stop before arriving in the US. Most are day time flights so she will fly all day and arrive exhausted and very happy to see you.

Just have lots of hugs, flowers and care waiting for her. Assume that she is both excited and exhausted and care for her quite well. She will appreciate it. I made sure I had bottled water, a blanket and pillow in the car after my wife arrived. There are lots of different scenarios you can plan but the main thing is to be there after she clears customs. If she knows you are waiting for her, she will be able to put up with the entry problems knowing that you are just a short walk down the hallway.

Give her lots of confidence that she can handle the trip alone and all will be fine.

You don't even have NOA2 yet......according to the overall timelines your better bet is that she is here for Christmas.

Enjoy your trip this summer and don't worry about her traveling here alone...there will be plenty of UA and RU folks on the plane that she can talk to.

You're kidding right? It took us over 3 weeks just to get TO NVC from USCIS approval. We are estimating another week for NVC approval, 1 week for NVC to send to Kiev, and 3-4 weeks after that for the interview appointment. So 8-9 weeks after NOA2 just for the interview. Not sure about how long after that the visa can be in hand.

2-3 weeks is highly unlikely but you might be able to pull off 4-6 weeks. Vermont seems to transfer it's approved petitions more quickly to NVC on average (although some cases lag behind). So looking at the best case scenario. You're approved and you have KEV # in about 15 days. Then it arrives at the embassy about a week later. Now you're up to 21 days (but could be faster or slower). Finally give another week for input into the system (28 days). At this point it really depends on having all supporting documentation ready for the interview as well as your fiance's flexibility in terms of attending the interview at any possible date or time. Some have been able to schedule an interview at Kiev for a date only 3 days after calling (although many opted not to do this because they were not ready)or the provided dates did not work into their schedule. Kiev has a fast turn around time. Let's put the absolute fastest it could be done at around 35-40 days after NOA2. But first you'll need that NOA2 in a timely manner. VSC has not been achieving that lately...But afterwards, with a little luck. Anything is possible.

It can be done and many have achieved a pretty fast turn around time...The fact that you'll be approved at VSC is in your favor in terms of arriving at the NVC and receiving KEV# in a timely manner. Tell your fiance to be prepared to clear her schedule to attend the interview any day and any time. The main obstacle is getting the NOA2 now. VSC has not performed well in that department at all lately.

Check out my timeline for recent post approval times (ie 14 days for NVC to receive, and a lucky 1 day for them to process and forward). Could have scheduled interview about a week earlier if I pestered the consulate daily for receive, and also i took the monday instead of thursday the week before which was also available at the time i did call. The consulate was great though, and Lidia had invitation in the mail about 10 days after NVC approval. But then we waited a few days, hoilday and weekend for lidia to get medical date before calling for interview.

Ours was a while back, and I had to go back and look at the timeline. It looked like about a week from NOA2 to NVC, and a day at NVC. I remember hearing a three day average for NVC, but it sounds like that isn't true any more, based on what I am reading here. It did take some time for the Embassy to get our file in their system so I could schedule an interview too. Good luck, and please let us know what happens.
