No need to translate documents if they are in either English or Vietnamese. If they are in any other language, then they would need to be translated.

You can also prepare a list of relatives that she has in the states. It isn't required to bring to the interview, but some co have asked for it.

You didn't explicitly state it, but make sure to have pictures especially in different days and attire.

Yes, thanks for the explanation. My fiance told me that her friend had documents translated and I told her that you don't need to. I just want a confirmation from others here. We have plenty of pictures since I made 4 visits and we traveled quite alot too.

You guys are great help! thanks again....

You do have to get it translated for USCIS, but not for the consulate so long as it is in either English or Vietnamese.

My fiancee went to the Department of Justice(bo tu phap) yesterday and was told the paper won't be ready for at least a month.

She talked to the people there and some told her it can drag on 2-3 months depending on your case. Right now she resides in Saigon but were born from another province so they need to send the application back to that province and then send back to the city. And that can take a long time.

I suggest anyone who is in similar situation, get your Police Cert early.

If it gets done in a month, we will be fine but if it takes longer, we will get delay.

Yah, it got to be the right person otherwise he's just going to waste his money. We just got our PC after 6 weeks. Police certificate in Vietnam is good for one year so get it done as soon as you can.

I-129F NOA2 : 2012-05-15

NVC Received : 2012-06-22

NVC Left : 2012-06-28

Consulate Received : 2012-07-02

Packet 3 Received : Called DOS on 07/3 and package 3 sent out. We didn't wait for the "physical" package. My fiance' mailed DS2001 and DS230 part I

out the next day via EMS. You don't have to wait for pkg3. You can download and fill it out ahead of time.

Packet 3 Sent : 2012-07-04

Consulate Received pkg 3: 2012-07-06

You know or hear anyone try that at the Department? We will call them in a week to see if the application been touched.

Question: Will we still have the interview eventhough we don't have the Police Cert. on the day of the interview?

or are they going to tell us to wait until we get the PC?

Has anyone in here experience that? thanks

Good to hear that I have that option. I know that has become the norm of doing business in Vietnam.

Just think of it like if you want express overnight delivery, you have to pay more. lol

thanks
