any other way of notification

Hello, we have sent off the AOS package and got the biometrics done, now we are going out of the city for couple of weeks, my question is, is there any other way we can find out through if we need to send or do something ? like if they send us RFE or interview notice while we are gone, there won't be anyone home to check the mails, is there a phone number we can call to keep us updated whether they are requesting RFE or anything?

you can call USCIS National Hotline, inquire for status, when they are open.

If an RFE, they will tell you that one is issued, but will NOT tell you what it's about.
