I'm getting ready to mail the I-129F petition in a few days. My fiance has Russian citizenship but was born, raised and has family in Kiev, Ukraine where she lives (but still has her propiska (official address) and apartment in Russia. We were just wondering if it's possible to have her interview at the US embassy in Kiev instead of traveling all the way back to Moscow - or would this complicate or delay things unnecessarily? I noticed the preferred embassy question on the I-129F petition. Thanks

Does she has a valid Ukrainian address and does she have legal residence in Ukraine? If so, then use her Ukrainian address on all forms that ask for it in addition to listing Kiev in the Embassy question you reference. This way, the file will be routed to Kiev.

She's not a legal resident in Ukraine - although she is co-owner of her mom's house and lives there, she has to return to Russia every 90 days and then re-enter. It's not really a huge deal, just thought it would be a little more convenient for her.

Then she will have to use her Russian address on the forms and she will have to interview in Moscow.
