Thank you all for your support and prayers. I have received NOA1! Now things are progressing and we hope that all of our documents are in order. My wife is so excited as we now know that the heavy burden of not knowing what was happening to my petition is now gone. Talk about stress relief! We will keep you updated. ALOHA!

Prepare for a very long wait. Be patient and never lose hope. :)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.]1st Cor 13: 4-7

did I miss something?? you said NOA1, right???

I don't want to take away your excitement. but NOA1 should be piece of CAKE compare to NOA2. I wish I am wrong.

Read the resources in the VJ and then discuss with your wife how the whole process works. most of the time, waiting for NOA2 is nightmare...You will see SAME initial review for months and months. It's always good to count an extra month time period for NOA2 compare to official time frame...Prepare for another 6 months to get NOA2...If you get earlier than your expected time frame, its always FUN....

have a great VISA journey.....

I had to visit your time line. If you think waiting for your NOA1 was difficult, wait to see what happens when you cannot see your NOA2 after like 7 months have passed and get a RFE insted of an approval or maybe they haul you in for an interview. Its not about stealing your joy but come on we got to be realistic here.

NOA2 your core is tested.

  • 1 month later...

Just wanted to update everyone here on VJ...since receiving our NOA1 on July 9, 2012 we have not heard anything as of yet. I guess NO NEWS is GOOD NEWS!

It's been 2 months so I hope that within the next 2 months or so we will get NOA2...hoping and praying.

Question: Does anyone have an idea how long before we get NOA2? Also, after we receive that NOA2, what is the next step to apply for her visa and about how long will it take

to get it approved?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hope you are all hanging in there and being patient as we are.

Take care and God Bless!

Difficult to say. USCIS website states it should take 12 months, but according to VJ timelines, the average wait over the past 3 months has been about 78 days. I would trust VJ timelines more. They seem more up to date.

See: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/ProcTimes.do for government timeframes

See: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php?history=90 for average wait time between NOA1 and NOA2 for Texas Service Center

Also, please update your timeline with your NOA1 date. It should then show you around when you will receive NOA2 according to the average for your center.
