I-864 AOS

I need to make sure before we send the I-864. My wife is sponsoring her parents and I am not a sponsor. The part on the form that ask for pre 3 years tax returns. We filed joint return so the return only shows the total for both of us. I have been told before to only put what my wife made on the I-864. Is this true or not? If so should I just put her totals from her W2? But then the transcripts I order from the IRS show the total for both of us. I'm concerned this will cause a problem because the totals don't match. What amount should we use on the I-864

correct, plus the copies of the W2s and if she can, a letter from her employer saying how much she makes. and of course include the 3 years of tax transcripts.

this is for each petition, since parents are filed separatly.
