Hi All,

My wife's interview is next week and I'm really hoping things will go well. We've crossed our Ts and dotted our Is so I think it will be fine.

I'm setting my sights on getting her here but I have a question: How long does it USUALLY take to enter the US for the first time with a CR-1 visa? I'd hate for my wife to get her visa, I book her flights and she misses her connecting flight here because she didn't have enough time.

I know this can vary widely, but what have people experienced for entry times?

Many thanks to all!

To be safe I would book a layover of 4 hours or more at POE.

I only know from the K-1 entry, but I think CR-1 would be similar. My husband had to go through the offices and they looked through his paperwork, filled out a few forms and that was pretty much it. It depends on if they have a line though.

Here is a link to airport specific reviews of POE if you are interested:

Cool! Thanks! So it sounds more procedural than anything else.

Like everyone else here, I will be so relieved when all this over and she's here.
