Hi, I am working on some affidavits based on these examples http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Affidavit

I am only just a little confused on who signs the second line.. that is below after it says "Sworn before me this _______ day of _______, 2008"

OR do they print their name above and sign below?

Thanks!

That template is set up for it to be notarized. The Notary completes the last two lines after the person signs in front of them.

What type of affidavit are you looking for? For what purpose?

It is an affidavit from the landlord stating that we lived together, since our rental contract is only in my name..

I had read that having things notarized isn't that important - is it for the affidavits? If I don't notarize it then should he just sign the bottom of it and right something else?

I mean.. Could I just sign it?? Like my landlord signs where it says name and then later where it says he had declared that in front of me I could sign? I really don't plan or would prefer not getting it notarized if its not necessary.

That format is for a notary. There is more than one format.

If a document is not notarized, simply omit that section.

You can't notarize a document unless you are an actual notary.

Okay I will just omit that last part and have him sign it
