Hi again,

Since my faith in our government is at an all-time low, I figured I'd turn to the VJ'ers to see if anyone has any information.

As I posted in another thread here, our cases was sent to the wrong consulate by the NVC. They have been absolutely no help whatsoever and the only course of action I could take after they messed up was to contact both consulates (the wrong one and the right one) to try to get more information. I have sent several messages to various e-mail addresses at the Montreal consulate (the correct one) asking them to request a transfer from Abu Dhabi (the wrong one) and also sent messages to Abu Dhabi in the meantime letting them know my fiancee no longer lives there.

So far, I have heard back within 2 days of every e-mail I sent to Abu Dhabi. I have yet to receive one single email or acknowledgement from Montreal that they even GOT my request. I'm now so angry and frustrated that I just want to give up this whole god-forsaken process.

My question is, has anyone ever had to experience a transfer between consulates and, if so, how long did it take for the actual transfer to take place once the correct consulate made the official transfer request? Since Montreal is notoriously slow and painful, I have a feeling we're in for another 6 months of waiting (after NOA2) for her to even get an interview.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim and Rochelle,

Hope everything is good on your side.

I came across on this post and is hoping that you can give me some advise as we had/have similar case.

We got married in Dubai in Oct 2013. My husband is from Seattle and I'm from Philippines (We met in Dubai and have worked there for 7 years). My husband filed I-130 in Jan. 2014 in Abu Dhabi. August 2014 he was asked by his boss to moved back to Seattle office for a new project, and I flew to Vancouver on a tourist visa to be close to him (as I cannot go to US while IV on process). We asked NVC if it was ok to transfer my case to Montreal and they knew that I'm on a tourist visa. They accepted it and they then move the case to Montreal. It was easy to transfer, I remember. So to make this way shorter, I finally got the interview date on Feb 25, 2015. I went to Montreal and the interview went fine until they give me white paper with 221G saying, "complete the IV process by submitting Canada Police certificate with your passport by courier".

Sent the documents right away, embassy received it on March 12 and was put on AP since then. Now after 2 months and after many inquiries to the embassy, all they answer is still on administrative processing... It is very disappointing. I see your case didn't take so much time to be approve even you transferred your case.

I think being on a tourist visa made it complicated? I am debating wether to request my passport back so I can travel outside Canada, planning to see my family in Philippines. I am so emotionally drained of this long and painful process and want to be with family right now. Do you guys think that its a good decision to ask for my passport back? What are the consequences of this?

Any feed back and advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you!
