why do some VJ members like to mention God for all there hard work?

I know about freedom of religion, but come on now!

does anybody else feel this way also?

I believe there may be a God just like most people.

but I don't go around preaching this to other VJ members.

I like to deal with facts versus believes, and I also speak the truth!

I find that hard work and praying to God gives me and others the same results as hard work only.

and I also find that praying only gives you no results!

so my conclusion is, praying obviosly does not help.

I put no faith in God, for Her to make the adjudicators do their job. <EOM>

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

To each his/her own

Some find tremendous relief and support in God, others do not.

The thing I like most about VJ is we can post what we feel and not be afraid of judgement (most of the time).

Prayer may help some, or some may think it helps, while others care not for it. To each their own!

Good luck everyone! Speedy journey for all!

Sure looks like someone read my profile today lol.

Well, let me tell you this. I have worked hard all of my life. Living alone since I was 16, working fulltime while finishing highschool, my bachelor and now my masters. I know for a fact that I did a darn well job on preparing our K1 Application and that because of that, we did not recieve any RFE or similar delays. The rest was out of my hands. I still had to wait 5 months as most other people in here, but that does not mean that I cannot be thankful for the many blessings I have recieved in life (an amazing husband, good health, a beautiful place to call my home, a good head on my shoulders etc.). Honestly, I feel that someetimes working hard just make the blessings even greater. I believe that God watches over me, inspires me to work hard and makes sure that I get it right so he can do right.

PS. you were just preaching.

Assuming there is a God (impossible to prove or disprove) and assuming that this Male Being has a personal relationship with all the millions of species currently alive on our 4.5 billion year old planet. With 99.9% of all species ever known having gone extinct (meaning they were unable to survive and died out, usually in a brutal way).

We can conclude that He is not good all the time.

Most people live on less than $2 a day. With poor access to clean water and basic necessities (like food).

It would have been nice for Him to place a lot more fruits and naturally growing vegetables on His planet.

Walk into a children's hospital and see the suffering, go to a third world country, look at the mass starvation of Somalians. Starvation! That is a miserable way to die!

Turn on the news and listen to the natural occurring weather catastrophes that kill off millions per year. How many people die due to wars that are ALWAYS ongoing.

Google a few stats:

How many Americans are raped a year: "A woman is raped in America one time every 2 minutes"

It may sound like I am pessimistic but I'm not. This is just common sense. If you look around you see catastrophe after catastrophe.

I am optimistic about myself and many of the people I am in contact with. But if you look around and crunch the numbers you see a very cold, very poor very cruel world full of suffering.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

2 things.

1: freedom of speech and expression. Are you suggesting that we cannot express how we feel about God and our faith because you don't appreciate hearing about it? I'm not asking you to believe in God, I'm expressing how I feel about my faith. I don't judge you for not believing, or having a different faith.

2. People in this world are not starving because of God. They are starving because of our (rich countries) greediness. There is enough food to feed every person in this world.

I find it offensive when people express their views about their faith. Keep it to yourself.

If there was a God, why would he let people starve?

I blame Denmark for all those people starving to death in Africa.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I've slowly conditioned myself to be tolerant. It's still idiocy and at the highest level.

Thankfully those whose posts have much insight do not scream God on each sentence that they muster to post.

The following meme really says a lot:

condescending-wonka-personal-relationship.jpg

The ignorance to think that you have a personal relationship with the creator of the vast universe. Full of hundreds and hundreds of billions of galaxies. All with hundreds and hundreds of billions of stars. Each star with its own solar system and surrounding planets. It is very humbling (well, maybe not right word) to try to get a grasp of the size of a few stars. Just a couple to put things into perspective.

star-r136a1-size-comparision-859814413.jpg

What pisses me off is when I hear this type of personal relationship ####### with the creator of the universe. Just yesterday I seen on another forum a person saying "I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not but my cousin woke up from a coma the day after I prayed and asked God to wake him up".

You read the details and find out he had severe head trauma, was in a coma from a car accident, his brain was bleeding, and the poor guy will probably NEVER BE THE SAME. And here is this person that came along and made a few thoughts inside their brain and believes that they were intercepted by God. 2 things. You are not that special that "God" is watching you and answering your genie wishes. And 2 this was a horrific tragedy so throwing "isn't God great, He answered my prayer" into the equation of this tragic situation is truly ignorant.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.
