Medical exam One month before Interview?

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to pose a question; Katherine was able to schedule her interview appointment for

August 24, unfortunately that was the earliest appointment available. It will be difficult for

Katherine to travel after the 28th of July. So she is considering the medical on the 25th and 26th

one month before her actual consular interview. Is this too early for her to get her medical done?

Thanks in advance,

Jesse

The only thing to remember is your visa will expire six months from the date of your medical, not the date of your interview.

Hi Jesse, im talking to Kathy on YM and told her that it's ok, since validity of medical is for 3mos.

According to the Visa Hour Videos which I have watched recently on YouTube, the medical exam results are good for 6 months. They also said that your Visa expiration date is tied in directly with the Medical Exam Date, so if you are getting your medical one month ahead of your interview, then your visa will only be valid for 5 months instead of the usual 6. This is important if you are planning to delay your flight out of the country.

validity of the medical is 6 months.

Hi everyone, is there any way for me to find which schedules are full? Is there any method for me to know if the interview schedule for August is full?

You won't know what is available until to log onto the embassy website to schedule.

Ok thanks guys.. all of your replies are greatly appreciated!!! We was just wondering if how recent of my medical is required by USEM? not a big deal as long it's valid.. isn't it? :)

Kathy

You are fine with taking your medical a month before the interview, just remember the visa validity date is tied directly to the medical so you won't have 6 months on the visa only 5.

I'm sorry but do you mean that the only way for me to find out the availability dates is if I schedule my interview and after I've made my payment?

yes!! otherwise you will call the USEM to ask them what are the available slots for august..

Ohhh boy, it doesnt seem like I'm gonna be able to get an schedule anytime soon.

Katherine was able to get an August 24th interview date, that was the earliest available. The rest

would have been in September.

One last thing, is the case number that they asked for visa appointment online,is it the same CASE NUMBER from NOA1 or the case number changes when it passed through NVC or it changes in Manila?

No it is a completely different number that you will get by calling the NVC directly 603-334-0700. The number should start with "MNL 2012"

That is the number you will need along with your passport number. Your passport number will be used to make your Visa Fee payment with

BPI. The Manila embassy will use your passport number to know if your BPI payment has been posted, which will then allow you to schedule an

appointment.

I wonder if Hank or anyone else can chime in regarding the possibility of obtaining an earlier interview appointment coming available?

If interviews get cancelled for various reasons could those become available to applicants by calling the Embassy and requesting an earlier

appointment if available? I have heard of people recently scheduling their interview within 5 business days of receiving their Manila case

numbers and passing the medical and interview withing 5 business days... amazing. :D So it leads me to believe that by

some stroke of luck, when they logged in to make an appointment an earlier slot had become available? Just a thought.

Jesse
