I wanted to publicly apologize to KitKat, Devilette, Becca, and the entire community of VJ. I've said some comments that have me rethinking my attitude on VJ. I think I was acting very cocky and arrogant as some have said. I was just having fun and being the devils advocate a little. I took on this stupid personality and took it too far. Being with my fiancee has made me realize that there are real people behind these avatars and we're all here doing the same thing, trying to be with our loved ones. This is not a game, this is much more than a game and I completely regret that comment. This is very serious business and all though I've played it down on this site, I really take it serious. I'm sorry for offending people with some of my posts. KitKat, Devilette, and Becca have helped me a lot on this site and I totally threw it back in there face. I will be the first to admit that I am an as#hole and I'm going to try and be more like myself and not some overboard avatar personality.

The truth is I NEED this site and it's much more than just a tool. This site and the people in it have made it possible for me to be where I am in this process. Thank you VJ and I'm sorry.

I hope I can turn back the clock and start fresh. Have a good day everyone!!

Good luck on the rest of the process.

Yet, 15 minutes earlier you wrote to LisaD:

That's why your comments are off base, because you are so concerned about my relationship, which you know nothing about. Have a good day.

Gotta get the last word(dig) in then LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO in every thread then cover it by saying, 'have a great day' or 'good luck'!

I'm so over you.

I saw that too!

It really is a shame since I have been on VJ a long time and that these type of postings are discouraging and not helpful but hurtful to those waiting out this process. Boastful, rude and obnoxious postings thrown in the faces of persons that are struggling on their journeys does not help to boost their morale and if I was a newbie I would be afraid to post since someone might come and brag that they are proactive instead of sitting on their laurels.

Have a good day Andy

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Being with my fiancee has made me realize that there are real people behind these avatars...........

There sure are.

In the last few days, I've (of course) seen some of our members get approvals for various types of petitions. I've seen a couple of denials as well. There have been some reunions, both for visits and 'for good'. All the 'normal' stuff of VJ.

There's been an approval of a long-standing waiver that many of us have been hoping for. And another waiver approval that was granted much sooner than the couple had been thinking, bringing much joy to them. And another member who went to interview hoping a waiver would not be needed, and the disappointment of learning that it will be - thus protracting her journey.

There's a member with his fiance seriously ill and in the hospital, thousands of miles away from him.

One of our members has suffered a miscarriage; another gave birth prematurely and the after a valiant struggle, her son slipped away.

Sure VJ is a tool. But it's a tool used by real people who become connected by viture of the journey we are on. People who may never meet face to face, but who care about each other nonetheless.

Life's about second chances people. I'll give Andy his. Not because he 'deserves' it, or with the caveat that he must 'earn' it. But because he's a real person who hopefully has the capacity to learn when he's messed up, 'fess up to it, and make a grown up effort not to repeat the behavior.

Outstanding post Rebeccajo!

With all of this in mind, why do things get so damn ugly around here?

My guess is that tensions are so high with everyone here that people have to find a place to release, and seemingly VJ forum drama is the relase of choice for many.

Me personally, I like driving fast and singing to really loud music. That normally does the trick.
