For those of us anticipating a January interview in Manila for the fiance visa, we may have more waiting to do. I called the USE in Manila last night (October 18) and the lady told me that the waiting period for a K-1 interview has now increased from 120 days (from the date they received the physical file from the NVC) to 150 days. That information contradicts the pre-interview letter that my fiance, Churchita, got from the USE, which said that the waiting period would be 120 days from the date they received the electronic file from the NVC (August 31). She said that the December appointments have all been taken, so anyone who is still hoping for a December appointment can forget it now. Also, she confirmed that they only release the appointment schedules once-a-month and that they would be releasing the January interview schedule in the middle of November. So, what all of this means is that we have MORE WAITING to do. She said the December schedule, of course, is affected by the holidays.

They say "patience is a virtue." If that is the case, then I am becoming more virtuous by the second. All we can do is pray and hope that we all get our interviews sooner than later. WAITING IS SO HARD!!!

Interesting: You must not know anybody or people are pulling my leg.

I was told that I could get an interview in a couple of weeks after the

Approval petition was in the Embassy and my fiancee had her physical.

Please do not ask me who as I am trying to get my fiancee in first. (L)

I will let you know how my case works out as I am trying to get her here by

Christmas as too many cold nights to sleep alone in the Midwest. :D

You know, I worked for the Federal Government once. Could never advance very far. The hiring pollicy was later found to be illegal. I remember my last day working for the Forest Service. I was doing stand exams. I was doing 3 stand exams a day while others in teams of 2 would do one stand exam a day. This meant I was doing 6 times the work of the others. I was sat down and told that I had to "shape up", that I had a "bad attitude" because everyone was feeling bad about how little they produced. (True story). I quit. No 2 weeks notice. My feeling was if I had been overly productive so long they did not need notice. Though patience is a virtue. I think maybe, a work ethic is more of a virtue.

They tend to always give worst case scenario. I saw an interview of a CO in manila online 2 or 3 months ago. And he stated the waiting time for an interview from the time they received the file was 6 months. Recent timelines have shown that this is not the case. It's running closer to 4 months from the time they receive the file. So take it with a grain of salt and say a few prayers. Not much else we can do.

a couple of weeks? too many cold nights doesn't sound like a reason the Embassy would give an expedited interview.

It took around two months for us to receive our interview date, which drove me absolutely crazy. Unfortunately, the interview dates for the Manila Embassy are not scheduled out further than three months. I felt a lot more at ease once we had a date. For us, having a date meant a milestone and a point in time for us to focus on being together again. Hopefully you will find comfort and a sense of tranquility when your date is set. I can’t write hang in there because that’s really hard to do, but I do feel for you...
