Just wanted to see if there was anyone with experience in using a reliable travel agent( either here in PH or there in States ) to get special promos going from Manila to LAX. Most specifically the "First Time Immigrant" promo fare that seems to good to be true. Anyone with experience with this? A ticket directly from PAL for my wife and baby is almost $3,000.. and i need one also  . Any insight and recommendations would be just peachy. Thanks!

Check online, you can find cheaper, though some draw back is long hours of flight and many stop over.

If the child is less than 2 yo, they can sit on the parents lap for free.(AA) However, usually there are seats on the 767/777 jets, that are just for Mothers, and have a fold down bassinet the child can sleep in,in front of the mothers seat. Try calling Amercian Airlines directly and give them the dates you are interested in.

Late Nov/early Dec I'm finding flights from Cebu/Manila to LAX for $976 for mother and child. ONE WAY of course, and no, buying a two way wasn't cheaper.

Posted (edited)

Note: Tickets for a lap child is not free. They still need a ticket,,, price is usually around 10% of the adult ticket.

And,,, also, short notice tickets during peak period (Now) is much more expensive then waiting till Sept.

dc

Check Blue Horizons Travel to get your wife and child here. They do a great job and was always reasonable when I lived in Cebu.

December is one of the worst times of the year to travel. I am looking at Thanksgiving time period RT from Ft Myers Florida to Manil and prices are $1350 RT. At XMas time they increase to 1888 usd. I figured I would have my fiancee (if all works well with timeing medical, visa etc) for January. It usually is cheaper mid January. Note the best time to book is 6-8 weeks out. Further out like now for the Holidays and seats are wide open thus they charge more. Good luck

I would consider 916 to be cheap especially for Dec 2012. I got my ticket for Dec 2011 for 1260 via Hawaiian Airlines.

Not sure of your location but I took Hawaiian Airlines last time I went home Dec 2011. It was Dec so fare was bit pricey.

Reunited for good and it feels so good!

Its for a 2 month old, plus me and my wife, and yes, they charge for infants, PAL charges 25% of the adult ticket price for inlap, 80% for in seat.. thanks for all the recommendations, been looking like crazy. Havent found anything that is legitimately under 1000. But thats what i get for only getting the tickets a week in advance.

I have used Edward Mabunga for several years and have been very happy with him. He is located in Utah.

I know you can find good rates online, but I like having someone to call if there is a problem, my wife flew home last year and we got caught in the ice storms that hit Nashville & her flight got canceled. It was nice to be able to give him a call about getting re-booked as soon as the airport re-opened.

Expedia has always been my choice. The prices quoted are tax-inclusive.

But if you can get the first time immigrant special...even better!
