Take matters into your own hands and DO NOT wait for the embassy in San Salvador to contact you. Call NVC to find out if your case has been forwarded to the embassy. Mine was forwarder 3 days after they received it from CSC. Then ask for the date they sent it through DHL. You can then track the shipment on DHL. Mine was delivered on June 11th. I emailed them on the 13th (today) for packet 3 using the case number from the NVC on the subject line. I made sure I put the beneficiary's name and DOB and my name and DOB. They replied after 29 minutes!!!!!!! Attached to their reply is my instruction packet!!!!!!

I don't know whether one should actually wait for the packet or not but it seems like one can print the DS-156 and send one copy to the embassy via Cargo Express. That's all they want for the first step. The rest on the checklist you will have to bring with you on your interview. Here's the electronic DS-156: DS-156.

Also, they want you to register and create a profile at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/sv_es/. You need your passport number and case number.

I will contribute more information later. I have to run but I just wanted to share this for those who are wondering - especially for San Salvador US Embassy because there is not much information here.

Good luck to us all!

We are doing much the same thing. I was just thinking that the consulate info needs to be updated. I have heard that the 2 interview thing no longer applies but I'm not 100% sure and that's important to know!

Congrats on getting this thing moving along... It'll be wrapping up soon!

Me too!! :thumbs::star::thumbs:

No interview date yet. I feel like I'm trudging through old and new info trying to figure out what needs to be done. The packet my fiancé got sounds like it was the same as yours... Instructions but no forms other than the DS-230. I think I'm going to sit in front of the compu tonight and try to sort it out so we can get this thing scheduled!

Are you going down for the interview?
