Ok Guys,

Maybe I am getting a little impatient but so far when I look at the other Aussie Members on VJ who have received Packet 4 from the US Consulate, mine is taking a bit longer. I sent back Packet 3 by express mail on 15-02-06 and I still haven't received Packet 4 yet.

I am from Melbourne and the corresponding US Consulate is based in Sydney. So far it has been nearly 2 weeks since I have sent back packet 3.

Can other Aussies who have been there already confirm with me how long did it take for you?

Maybe I should stop checking my mail box everyday. Reason why I want to receive Packet 4 badly is that I want to have an exact date when the interview is going to be and start to make arrangement for my move.

I really wouldn't worry. It appears the average time for pretty much any of the countries is between 2 to 6 weeks for them to send a packet 4. I am in the UK and I looked through all of the timelines for mine and was stressing because it looked like 4 weeks was the average for everyone but mine came through in 2 and a half weeks. I think it just depends on how much time they've had to be looking at all the forms you've sent back.

I kept looking at other peoples time lines and thinking hey how come they got their packet 3 before me and yet I started my application first? It seems like every stage except my packet 4 I had the maximum time of everyone. It's taken 9/10 months for me to get to interview.

I would say give it 4 weeks and then start hassling them if you haven't heard. You will probably have a few weeks between the packet 4 and interview. I have 5 weeks between mine so you've plenty of time to give notice at jobs etc.

I know exactly how it is to be watching the mailbox every day though. You are thoroughly disappointed when nothing is there. I had my mum on mailwatching duty and demanded she ring me at work the moment anything arrived!

You'll be fine and it will arrive out of the blue and you'll be thinking crikey it's all happening!

Patience is a virtue as they say!
