Calling credit allowance

Good day all!!

For the sake of being fair, I am attempting to determine how much $ to set aside monthly for my husband to call home. I'm trying not to see this through USC lenses and understand that I didn't leave the familiarity and comforts of home (seems funny to say that about Nigeria, but that's what he knows). I also can't use myself as a gauge, because I call my parents on average once a week or less.

To the USC with your spouse stateside, HOW MUCH MONEY DID YOU MAKE AVAILABLE FOR CALLS HOME?

To everyone else, WHAT's A FAIR AMOUNT OF CALLING CREDIT?

Calling will spike during the holidays, in fact a plane ticket may be cheaper. You are probably looking at about $10 a week if nothing goes wrong back home. If someone dies then double that.

Make sure you know about these cheap calling services - you call them from your phone and then they route it overseas very cheaply ....I used to use those and it cost me 2 cents a minute to the UK

Always use land lines - never use cell phones - this end or that end

Once he is making good money it wont matter

and make sure his email address and street address is up to date with all his contacts

2 months ago I got a letter forwarded from my Washington address saying my sister had died 2 weeks before

I was hoping to do less, but this isn't unreasonable. I definitely am learning not to do more than $10 at a time.
