Hello to all VJ members!

feeling good to see about CSC is working hard to approve K1 visa app and i am waiting so bad to get notification although i am little scare of RFE but i am prepared for that. reason for possible RFE is G-325a form of my fiance (Beneficiary) is signed by me (My attorney told me to do that who is waste of time and money) :crying::angry: and i didnt send original intend of letter (Beneficiary). so my fiance already sent me those in advance so we dnt have to wait.

i have seen some of indian vj members pass thru this k1 visa process in Mumbai, India. does anybody know what is the accurate amount they paid at this current rate? i know it is supposed to be $ 240. so the place you get DD do they know what is the current rate of us dollar. what happen if we have more or less amount in DD? because changes can occur within 24 hours so what are their policy to accept this?

as a petitioner can i send check written in us dollar from my bank?????????

one more question. what is the best answer when they ask question like "why both of you don't want to marry in India?" (we choose K1 because it is faster than spouse visa but bad luck i see people are already approved for the spouse visa who applied at the same time as i sent my k1)

your experience would be greatly appericiate guys if you know the ans! :):):)

Good luck every one!!!

You will need to check with the VFS to see what the exact exchange rate is at the time of your interview. Ours was 13920 Rs. I've seen cases where if you go under, they will let you go to the bank and come back same day to interview, however in our case of going just a little over, we had to come back the next day for the interview. I would assume that is what the process is now.

No, you cannot send a check from your bank in the US, it has to be in Indian rupees.

However you decide to answer the question of why you decided to get married in India, it needs to be honest to you both and your relationship. Our first reasoning to get married in US was because it was faster but then as time went on and we started thinking about our wedding plans, neither my fiance, his family, nor I had to money to pay for the wedding so my parents (US Citizen) are pretty much paying for the wedding and that is the truth and that is why.

Good luck!

Thank you Lindsay and Gagan

i saw your email response in my personal email also and thank you again for posting here. God bless you.

Thanks for the information about Visa fee.

Thanks Bryan and Isabel.

we have truth to telling them that we have been in realtion ship for last 6 years and cant wait more to be gether so we choose k1 which seems faster than marriage visa. But in indian culter it seems little odd that man go to his fiance place to get settle down after marriage and even get married in his fiance's country so this things make me scare.

Good luck to both of you in your path.
