Hi,

I arrived to the US Embassy in Bangkok this morning. They told me that they just made a change in there system so ALL passports with approved visas in them will be sent back by EMS Thai post. You need to fill out a piece of paper with your address and give it to the post office inside the Embassy and pay the mailing fee. Pick-up visas is NOT possible any more.

Good luck to you all with your journeys!

Today I have seen the green 'Courrier Pass Back Application Form'. One of the options is 'Please hold at Rong Muang Post Office (For visa applicant only)'.

Not sure if it applies to all types of visas. But it is virtually as good as picking up at the embassy and probably with only minimal delay.

Has anyone successfully used that option for immigrant visas?

Just verified with Rong Muang Post Office that you can pick up there anything that goes out of the embassy the same day it's ready at the embassy. They pickup mail twice per day from the embassy. The post office is open 8:00 - 18:00 Mo-Fr and 8:00-16:00 Sa, Su and Holidays. Even if the embassy didn't directly provide you the option to pick up at that post office you could still give the embassy the address 'Poste Restante, Rong Muang Post Office, Bangkok' and it would be waiting for you there.

Picking up at Rong Muang is after all a good option after my passport was sent to the wrong place (given the right address)... Had to go and chased it back, luckily it was still untouched.
