Hi all, just had our petition approved on 9th of this month and I am soo damn nervous about the next steps that I cant think of anything else but the medical exam and the interview... Anyways, im just a li'l confused so I have to do the asking myself, what's packet 3 and packet 4? As far as I know, packet 1 is the noa1 and packet 2 is the noa2... but what about the packet 3 and 4?? are these the notice from the NVC and the notice from the USEM? I know my question is easy, and I know i sound a bit stupid.. I have read posts from here but I still need to ask.. Sorry guys, being nervous makes half of my neurons slow.. :( Thanks in advance!

we didnt wait for the packet 3 and 4.. after our petition got approved (NOA2/I-797) my fiance called the NVC and ask for our manila case number..you can see my timeline below..

We got our case number by phone inquiry and we didnt wait for letter of instruction from the USEM (you can download it online K1 interview preparation instruction:)), just go to BPI and pay for your visa, after like 20+hrs you can set appointment online Schedule interview online download the appointment confirmation, you will need it during medical and interview

Don't worry about packet 3 and 4. when you get your manila case number you can proceed to next step. don't wait for packet 3 and 4..

Packet 3 is the "Instruction Package" For standard processing posts (not many of them anymore), this is what the embassy sends out when it receives the petition from NVC. You return package 3 with DS-230 Part II to request your interview be scheduled.

Packet 4 is the "Appointment Package" This is the package that has the interview appointment and the final checklist of what to bring to the interview.

I have a couple questions. Mine was approved July 2nd, got the noa2 on the 7th. How long should I give it at the

nvc before I call?

Another question. How long does it take for the medical to go from St Lukes to the embassy? Once we get the interview date should I just get Ema a hotel room for a week, take the medical then go to the interview? She lives in Cebu, so the flight to Manila isn't too bad. Just wondering about a time frame to be efficent and try to get it all done without any back and forth.

medical exam will cost her 2 days. The 2nd day is for the releasing of results and her vaccines( if all goes well w/ the med exam).. She can have her medical exam and interview both in just a week. I have read some posts here wherein they had their interview just 2 days after the medical exam :)

see detailed instructions on medical exam here. good luck! http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221658-st-lukes-medical-exam-walkthrough/

I have a question, I just sent my scanned NOA2 yesterday to NVC's email. How long does it usually take for them to have a case number? Do I still call everyday and check? or should I wait for a reply from them through the email. I noticed that bebe13 it took you 6 days from the time you emailed them. I am getting really anxious on how long this takes for them to send our file to NVC and to do the next step.
