Would it help the process if your fiance works for Homeland Security??? And one other thing, can you apply for a tempary working visa while awaiting on the K1?

Just an educated guess on my part, you can apply, but I doubt it will be granted. I don't believe they will grant an employment visa to someone going through the k-1 visa process. Reason being; if (s)he is here on an employment visa and they reject the k-1 visa application for any reason, there is reason to belive (s)he will stay when the emplyment visa expires.

April 13, 2009 - Mailed I-751 for Removal of Conditions

May 5, 2009 - NOA (extension approved)

May 18, 2009 - Biometrics appointment arrived today-scheduled for May 29, 2009

August 13, 2009 - Approval for removal of conditions (originally delayed due to RFE)

August 20, 2009 - 10 year green card arrived in mail

June 9, 2010</ - Treygan Isaiah is born

June, 21, 2010 - My adoption of Nathan is finalized

No lawyers and no problems

Employment visa's usually have dual intent.

The only reason I think it might help is that security checks would have been already completed for him/her to work for DHS. Now, the only question is, would they be willing to take those checks and not do another set or not. Either way, I couldnt' imagine it helping/hurting too much.
