Im assuming it has something to do with your RFE causing the delays.

Im asking this because a friend of mine filed for her husband

at the same time I did, and she also got an RFE at around the same time

I did...except mine was for a simple letter explaining why he couldn't do

his taxes, and hers was a whole enormous list of documents requested.

Also I sent mine on the 24 of Aug., while she sent hers on Sep. 11.

I just don't understand how her husbands EAD went into

Production on Sep. 14 and mine is still at initial review until today =(

They don't work on your guys' cases at the same time. I filed at May 8th, and I had interview the same day with people filed at June or even July. There is not much you can do if it's still under the processing time.

I guess I haven't posted in this thread yet, but with all the action seen lately, thought I'd pop in.

Just received her EAD on Friday, but we don't have an interview date yet, and our I-485 still says: "On August 16, 2012, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location."

Obviously, the RFE (see signature block for details and link) has slowed us down, but we can't complain as overall, it's been pretty quick. Our entire K1 process took 46 days from K1 NOA receipt to when she picked her visa up. The AOS has been right with everyone else's so the expidite worked with the K1 but not the AOS.

From K1 submission to US Citizenship- 2 years, 1 month and 2 days!

K-1 Process
• 6 MAR 2012 - I-129F packet sent via FedEx overnight •

• 7 MAR 2012 - Packet received Dallas, Texas
• 12 MAR 2012 - NOA1 (Notice by Email: routed to the CSC)
• 15 MAR 2012 - NOA1 (received Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797))
• 12 JUN 2012 - NOA2 (Notice by text message and Email)
• 23 MAR 2012 - NVC received/forwarded approved I-129F
• 25 April 2012 - Interview and Visa Approved!
• 27 APR 2012 - Collected Visa at Embassy
• 29 MAY 2012 - Arrival in US after two weeks holiday together!
*It took 46 days from NOA1 to Visa pick-up and we received our NOA2 two weeks AFTER her arrival in States!

AOS Process
• 13 JUL 2012 - I-485 packet received at USCIS
• 23 JUL 2012 - NOA I-797C received for I-485 and I-765 (we didn't do an AP)
• 10 AUG 2012 - RFE for Proof of Employment and Fed. Poverty Level/Support Requirement!(Active Duty Military but deployed last year with little taxable income to report)
• RFE Discussion--> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/382590-any-other-military-members-have-this-happen/
• 16 AUG 2012 - USCIS received my RFE document response & Biometrics completed on same day
• 21 SEP 2012 - EAD Received after a total of 6 USCIS Status updates
• 8 MAR 2013 - USCIS received our AP I-131 Travel Doc that we didn't apply for initially (bad decision)
• 26 MAR 2013 - Email Notice that AP was approved
• 03 APR 2013 - Card in hand! (9+ months from application to receipt of card)

Removal of Conditions

• Skipped with Military expedite

Citizenship N400

• 20 JAN 2014 - Packet mailed

• 02 FEB 2014 - walk-in Bio appointment

• 24 MAR 2014 - Interview

• 08 APR 2014 - Oath Ceremony

I just got notice that the AP has been approved. However, the EAD got an RFE. I think because it was sent back to us for a forgotten signature and then mailed back in, it got separated from the documentation included in the whole packet. Anyway, it is pretty much useless now anyway, since our interview is in a week.

hey guys, off topic question. we have our interview on the 4th of october. while thats great and all, i do have something that may be a little scary and that is back in 2006 an ex g/f and i were caught stealing. petty theft like some perfume or something stupid like that. well, i was given the opportunity to complete mediation ( a set of instructions to complete ) and upon completion the charge would be dropped. well, they were dropped. anyways, it was a first offense for me and im curious if that will have any affect at my AOS interview. YES i have all the required paper work for the interview that shows the charge was dropped and mediation completed etc. any thoughts?

just for u then :)

We arrived a 8:35 for our interview which was scheduled for 9 am ,we underestimated the traffic . We went through the security in about 5 mins ,had to take off her coats and anything metal place it in bins to go through the detector. They didn't say anything about our cell phones. Took the elevator to the 14th floor ,handed our letters and id to the guard who directed us to window 1 ,where we handed in our letter again and told to take a seat and wait for our names to be called. The room was pretty full, they apparently had lots of naturalization interviews that day. I kept thinking the wait will be over soon but time just went by so slowly. There appeared to be more people coming and at one point they ask for family members not doing an interview to go to another waiting room. At about 10:50 we heard our names called over the pa system and went to the door to await io. We said good morning and smiled ,he didn't seem friendly barely send Morning. He led us to he office ,closed the door ask us the raise our hands and swear to tell the truth. Then we were seated and asked for ids and birth certificates for me and my son. Next he asked for marriage certificate and my husband's birth certificate. Then the questions 1. Had I applied for a b1 visa before ?me: yes, 2. You were denied a b1 visa before ? me :yes(surprised at these questions it was over 10 yrs ago, before Canadian citizenship) 3. Is this the first marriage for both of you? we replied yes. 4. show we what joint documents u have together, we showed him our document( did not have a lot no ssn), 5. what is your son's birth date? (to my husband) he give the right answer ,then asked him my husband which school our son goes to. 6. why did u file as single for tax return? my husband told him that is what he was advised to do since I didn't have ssn. Then he asked me why i don't have a stamp in my passport and to walk him through my entry. I explained that Canadians didn't get their passports stamped when driving across the border and walked him through my entry. He said he will have to verify my entry in their system but can't do it today when they are busy he will do it on their day off which is usually a Friday but give him a few weeks. He said as soon as he can do that he will approve my case. My husband was not happy so asked him again when he will approved it he said as soon as he can verify my date of entry. We thanked him and left, checked online saw they approved the i30 but still at testing and interview for i485. The whole interview took less then 10 mins.
