Hey Mariana, APPROVED! See story below. Thank you Thank You Thank You!!!!

So I had my interview early this morning. I was extremely ready for a slew of questions and lots of probing, etc. Well, my appointment was for 7am. We got to the Atlanta USCIS at 6am. Doors opened at 6.30am. We went into the airport type security thing and for some reason the alarm kept on going off with hubby. They searched his shoes pockets, watch, etc ...nothimg so finally they let us through. Baby is getting fidgety in stroller by this time  To make it worse we have to go into an elevator -- have you ever heard of a claustrophobic 14 month old...terrified of elevators...starts to yelp and gasp..By the time we are in the huge waiting area and we noisily sign in, we have caused a stir because baby is full fledged in tantrum mode :help: We try everything, rocking, milk, water, veggie puffs that she loves..raisins were all over the store...mom and dad are also flustered at this time. Anyway finally, I sing a song that never fails to calm her down and she calms down, hiccups and sleeps... phew..

Ten minutes later at 7.36, we are called in. Serious African American woman, about 35 yo. No smile.Serious scrutinizing...Swears us in. Asks my address and date of birth. Askls to kindly tell her where we met and when. Jots down in my file. Asks for hubby and my passport and DL. We hand those in, she goes out to do a photocopy, comes back and says Well done and Congratulations. Card will be in the mail 7-10 days, actually smiles beautifully and shows us out at 7.41.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful support, MOST especially, Mariana: I would have missed my appointment withoiut your advice to call USCIS, and you pushed me to insist. I grew a backbone on this site...Thankyou. I will be lurking and lending my opinion here until all us Julyers are done. Thanksxxx

Congratulations to all who are getting their approvals!

I wish I could report some more news on our case. But as of yet, were still waiting for an interview date. We're well over 100 days now after filing, so I'm starting to get a little concerned

I spoke with our lawyer yesterday, who said that they are dealing with cases who filed weeks after ours at the same office who have received their interview notices, so this isn't making me feel any easier about anything.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why it may be taking our, what I thoughts was simple, case...longer than others filing later than us, at the same local office?

AOS Journey

Day 0 - 07/10/2012 - AOS package (I-130,I-485, I-175) mailed to Chicago with FedEx.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why it may be taking our, what I thoughts was simple, case...longer than others filing later than us, at the same local office?

DeWave, a friend of mine was in the same boat as yours...others filing at the same time had gone on to have their interviews and were getting their cards in the mail. She had no RFEs and was just past her 100 days on her aos timeline. She called USCIS one day last week and kind of told them that she thinks she was scheduled for interviews and was never informed. At first they danced around her and told her the usual stuff...long story short after insisting and causing quite a bruhaha, they found out she had indeed missed interview date and her file was now hanging in limbo somewhere. She lost it and got a lawyer, who made an infopass with her. Norfolk, Va USCIS now has her scheduled for Dec 4th. I'm just saying you really and truly could have missed your date of interview. I almost did...Your lawyer must request USCIS to look up these details for you. You are paying him. Get your money's worth :-)

I guess I'm not quite sure how to call them up and cause a ruckus haha. When I spoke to a second tier rep, they were pretty forthcoming with information, and seemed pretty certain that an interview date hadn't been set. Do you think it will be worth me making an Infopass appointment, will it actually do any good? The problem with our lawyer is that we only have him to represent us at the interview, all the paperwork and everything else was done by us, so they can't get too involved as we havent paid them to get too involved.

Its even more disheartening seeing people who filed in September getting interview notices, whilst were still sat here doing nothing!
