Hello all,

I'm glad to have found this forum, it looks very helpful. But I haven't found information that applies to our particular situation:

I am a US Citizen. My Mexican wife and I were married 2 years ago in Mexico, and have lived in Mexico since. After we married, she got her B1/B2 visa and has visited the US several times. Now, we would like to live for one year in the US, if she can get permission to work. After one year, we plan to move to England, where she has been accepted to graduate school. She is a biologist. We are not in the US now, so we could potentially start paperwork before entering the country.

What are our options?

Thank you!

The cheapest and quickest option would be if she can get a work visa. If she is a well qualified/ published biologist that should be do-able.

Your other option is to petition her for a IR-1 spousal visa, which gives her a greencard upon entry, but takes 8-11 months to get.
