Hi,

My husband and I will be filing I-751 to remove the conditions on his greencard around April '07, I need some help answering the questions on the form.

Page 1 part 1

Mailing Address: Can I leave this space blank since my mailing address and physical address are the same or do I need to put "N/A" in those spaces or maybe "same as above?"

Page 2 part 3

Other names Used: Being that my husband is from Egypt he has 4 names and on some documents he uses his first name and his last name while on others he uses his first name with his second middle name hyphenated with his last name. Question : Would I need to list these various combinations of his name in this space?

Page 2 part 4

Information about petitioner (i.e spouse or parent): Where it has list family name of petitioner do i need to put my maiden name as i did when I first filed the original documents to get him to US (even though we were married when i filed the I-130, I didn't have my name changed til I returned to US) or should i put my now married name as it is on all my current documentation?

I know this long but I need to make sure that we complete this form accurately.

Thanks

My opinion is to put:

Mailing address: same as above

Other names used: makes sure it's consistent with what he initially filled 2 years ago. and with the passport.i have the same probelm, sometimes i use only my first and last name and sometimes i add the middle as well.he should do the same. list first under "first", last under "last" and the 2 other names listem both under "middle", maybe with a "-" in between.

Info about petitioner: I would put both. Like, for ex, Mary Johnson-Habib.

Im no expert, but thats how i'd do it.

Mailing Address: On the form, note the full title of that area is "Mailing address, if different from above". I'd interpret that to mean that if your mailing address is NOT different from above, you can leave the area blank and all will be fine. Nevertheless, we wrote explicitly "same as above", to make no room for ambiguity or doubt.

Other names Used: At a minimum, I'd list all the variations and combinations he has ever used on anything that you might consider presenting as evidence, or anything you have presented in the past. Even if some variations seem rather obvious. And the instructions don't allow you to exclude a variation just because you're not sending other evidence that shows it, so if in doubt, include any variation that he has actually used. They're smart enough to exclude a variation if they don't think it's important.

Information about petitioner (i.e spouse or parent): The general rule is to write your legal name as it is currently on the day you fill out the paperwork. So if you've changed your name due to marriage since you filed the first petition, then use the current married name instead of the maiden name. Sharing surnames is one more bit of evidence that you've joined lives, so you might as well make that obvious right on the I-751 (though plenty of bona fide married couples maintain separate surnames, so couples who choose to keep their names separate shouldn't feel pressured to change that decision just because of the way it looks to immigration).
