When were you supposed to get married?

I'm afraid we might have to cancel our big wedding because of this...

Originally we had planned for november, a subsequent rude awakening to visa times led to spring wedding plans. I was certain even with the delay I would be over there for our 1 year anniversary in march, as you can see from other july filers, this would have been possible. For some reason though we have been forgotten, now I'm doubtful i'll be over there before may (our 1 year engagement), so I've ditched the church, venue and other plans. We also dont have enough money to see eachother again until the big move. I'm also considering the fact we might end up one of those unlucky couples in the 250+ or 300 club, so no longer planning any form of wedding... Can't be letdown if you stop hoping and planning.

That sucks. I really hope we won't have to cancel ours…my mom, sister and other relatives have already booked their flights to come over for the wedding and we put down a chunk of money for the reception.

My fiancé is faxing the release form to his senator today, I hope that will help to speed things up a little…I know it's probably wishful thinking, but what else is there to do? Have you guys tried the senator route?

no, my fiance thinks it's useless and that we'll just get a 'you are within processing times/please wait 30 days'. They haven't updated the times for a while now so whenever we've called they just say no.

I can feel you. I thought I would be over there this March at the same time as our engagement anniversary. But it seems to me that it will not be possible. We don't have enough money to meet each other again. Sooo.. Crying doesn't help.. But I do cry every time.. I am praying every chance I get.. Just keep trying to be in faith that the petition will be approved anytime soon...

Yeahhh. It's like, even though they are just arbitrary dates, they mean so much... Valentines/Christmas/anniversaries and birthdays that we missed out on. I got really cut up over the fact we couldn't do Halloween costumes together, which is silly but meant so much to me.

Can't believe feb is almost over. I played around with the last digits on case status, there's a chunk of july I130s with the same date, that seem to be stuck along with our petition. All the I29fs before and after us were dealt with during jan till mid feb, maybe our file got put in I130 by mistake? idk I'm just clutching at straws now, does seem likely since we're encroaching on standard wait times for I130s

Hi, everyone! We were approved this morning, exactly 7 months after being touched on July 27th, 2012. Unsuspecting, I opened the mailbox this morning, and boom, it was just there at the top. Now I am so excited!

Congratulations! Your last 'touch' is the same date as my last 'touch'. So that gives me hope. Did you sign up for alerts from the USCIS website? If so, did you get any alert to say it was approved? Has your status changed on the USCIS website?

I know what you mean. I turned 50 in November and we weren't able to be together. I turned 30 in his arms (that's a long story) and it was important to us that I turned 50 in his arms as well. But it wasn't to be. He said 'you will turn 51 in my arms and every birthday after that and that is what is important'. I also missed his birthday last July.

Yes, I signed up for alerts from the USCIS website. I got an alert that the petition entered Post Decision Activity. I checked the USCIS website, and our status has changed and says they have approved the petition. By the way, on Monday we had an alert that they changed our mailing address, which we never requested. So we called them and was told that it was a common mistake.

Now it's late February. It has been a long wait, and I'm so glad we are making progress. I am positive that all July filers will get approved very soon. A long way to go, but it will be worth it!
