I had my I-485 interview on June 1st and everything overall went good. The only problem was my Manitoba birth certificate I had used for the application. What we get is more of a birth card, and the USCIS does not accept that form of birth certificate anymore because it does not have the parents name on it. The officer informed me of this and told me that my application will be put on hold until I can mail them the proper birth certificate. I did so immediately and had it in the mail to them within 4 days. He said that if it took longer than a month my application would be cancelled. Well, its been a month and 10 days not and I have heard absolutely nothing. Not update in my case status at all. I'm worried that they lost it or something and have cancelled my application. Has anyone ever been in this type of situation? The officer had told me that after I mailed the certificate to him, I would get a response within a week. Obviously that isn't happening. Any advice? I just want to talk to the officer that conducted my interview, but obviously that isn't possible. I hate that they provide absolutely no numbers to contact offices with. Other than the annoying 1-800 automated voice-a-thon.

The biggest annoyance I have with this is travelling back to Canada with my advance parole. Every time I cross the border (which is about once a month) I have to get a new parole, which takes time and money. A big nuisance.

Why didn't you get a multi visit one the first time? It would have been free.

I did get a multiple entry parole. The actual card is (on my employment authorization card), but every time I cross the border they have to make up a new I-94 for me. And its only a one time use per parole. Is that not normal? I just assumed thats how the multiple entry cards worked. I will be extra annoyed if thats not really how it works and they messed up on my card.
