Hi guys, just a quick question for you. Can my wife go for her medical exam at St. Lukes after we receive her case number or must she have the visa appointment letter first?

Thanks so much for reply....

I would personally wait only because back in my time (im sure policies have changed in 2 yrs) they did ask when my interview was and im pretty sure they kept my passport?

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

Yeah....I know they did keep passports before, but I think the procedure has changed now. The beneficiary surrenders their passport to the embassy now. I also heard that as some are doing their med exam with only their case number in hand. I was hoping she could do her exam early in case their is any problems to be resolved.

Thank you for your reply...

I only have read of one person getting the medical at St. Luke's with just the NVC letter, not just having the MNL #... the NVC letter stating the MNL #. Just curious, being you have the MNL # and it only takes a day or two to pay the fee at BPI and get the interview scheduled why buck the system? Get the interview scheduled print two copies of the confirmation page and get the medical done without issues.
