I'm with everyone else. I'm sorry that you were misinformed. The best thing you can do is be prepared as you can be fore Packet 3. My fiance is in Canada and I have just about everything ready to go for Packet 3, minus signatures and dates on things. That way, we can send it off either the same day or the next day after getting Packet 3. Stay informed about the next steps needed. We are going to be ordering a long form birth certificate and police certificates at the end of this month and getting more passport pictures taken of him and then we are all ready to go. Just need to date and sign all forms. Once thats sent, we wait for P4 and then can schedule medical and interview date. From there its just getting everything in a row and ready to go for interview stage.

Good luck but seriously we had to push our wedding back in the beginning too because we had no idea when this will be approved. At this point, we are planning to just get married at the court house to satisfy legal requirements and then have a regular wedding once we have his AOS sent off. Less stress. Less wasted money on deposits for vendors and venues.

Also, If you decide to go ahead and get married, I would make sure you withdraw the petition for the K1 first. If you enter the US under a tourist visa and get married with the K1 pending on file, I think it could cause problems for you....I am no expert, maybe someone else knows more about it. But, If it is still on file that you have a K1 pending they COULD deny you entry if you do not still have ties to the UK. It would suck to not even be able to make it to your wedding.... Sending you good vibes, but I would doubt you will have visa in hand in time. Good luck!

even if you get NOA2 in August, getting an interview scheduled for September are slim to none. Once you get NOA2 it takes at least 2 weeks to get a case number, lately it's been a month. Even lets just say you get lucky and it only takes 2 weeks to get your case number, you are looking at the end of August to clear NVC and it takes 4-8 weeks to get an interview. You;re looking at least an October interview.

Well, what if she is denied entry (which is not so unlikely having petition in the system) while entering for wedding on either VWP or B-2 ?

Much safer thing to do would be to move wedding - no guarantee bride is going to show up unless she already is in US.

I agree, postponing the wedding day is preferable. However after having read endless amounts of topics where the couple had postponed 3-4 times, I'd rather take the chance and leave the K1 active since it's perfectly legal to visit on a tourist visa until K1 visa is in passport. In case foreign fiancee is denied entry, it'll be a matter of weeks/few months until entering on the K1 and getting married that way. Honestly, to cancel the petition and think it's going to get easier(or faster) that way isn't anything I'd recommend.

I'd hate recommending OP to cancel the petition, fly over on a VWP to marry and be denied. Then it's more time apart and having to reschedule anyways.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
