If there were no implication Eric Holder and democratic party would had not been fighting it so bad.

They know the fraud does take place in polling station when someone can just walk in claim to be xyz and just vote as there is not Id check.

If there is a Id Check this kinda fraud would not happen.

That is precisely the case. Holder is not fighting it. He just said the law will alienate many citizens who have no id's and who will not be able to vote.

I'm talking about adults. Only adults can vote. Try to keep up. :bonk:

So as a Kid it self you should have had your BC.

One needs to have some kinda Id to prove they are USC... unless the ppl you are talking about are living in sticks with no records at all.

I am not sure those ppl would even show up to vote anyways.

Eric Holder vows to aggressively challenge voter ID laws

ttorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Tuesday vowed to be “aggressive” in challenging voting laws that restrict minority rights, using a speech in Texas to make his case on the same day a federal court was considering the legality of the state’s new voter ID legislation.

“Let me be clear: We will not allow political pretexts to disenfranchise American citizens of their most precious rights,” Holder said in the speech to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. “I can assure you that the Justice Department’s efforts to uphold and enforce voting rights will remain aggressive.”

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

That would be their birth certificate, certificate of naturalization or passport. Certainly not a DL.

I know this is really complicated for you, so let me explain this for you very simply. We are talking about adults, not children. Just because someone had a birth certificate as a child doesn't mean they still have one as an adult.

People in "the sticks" will vote if they can. Just because you don't think they will doesn't make that a fact.

In this day and age, all US Citizens should be required to carry a photo id of some sort, no excuses. If they're too damn lazy to go get one, then they shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of any services that require identification, in fact they should be fined for not having one.

Well that's their damn problem. Since when is one persons carelessness or poor planning the burden of everyone else? You have excuses for everything.

Are you my boss? Do you keep tabs on me? Do I need to clock in and out? Are you turning into stalker #2?

Do you always answer to the name "someone"? Might explain why you imagine people are stalking you.

Follow your own advice: Perhaps if you spent less time being opinionated and more time addressing the facts, you might learn something. And here are the facts; you can get the birth cert in Mississippi without a picture ID. SS card and a utility bill, being the easiest two or in the poor's case SS card and Snap/EBT card. :bonk:

■ Photo Driver’s License ■ Photo State Issued ID ■ Employment ID

■ School, College or University ID ■ US Military ID ■ Tribal ID

■ Alien Registration/Permanent Resident Card ■ Temporary Resident Card ■ US Passport

OR two forms of identification from the following list:

■ Social Security Card ■ Utility Bill (showing address) ■ Medicaid Card

■ Snap/EBT card (showing address) ■ Work Identification ■ Veteran Universal Access ID Card

Now that the waters have been cleared :ot2:

I'm quite aware of the rules, thanks for trying to be smart. It didn't work though, as usual.

Let me break this down for you so that even you can understand.

We are talking about a person who has a job. Are you able to keep up with this?

Lets say they don't have work identification. I've never had one, so that is a high possibility. Still able to keep up?

Remaining options are social security card and utility bill.

What documents do you need to get a replacement social security card? I see that you like making lists, make a list of their options.

Remember that this person doesn't have a work identification card.

Hope that wasn't too complicated for you.

That's their problem? That's your answer? Really?

So if someone lost all their posessions in Katrina, it is their problem and they shouldn't be allowed to vote? If their house burnt down and they lost everything, it is their problem and they shouldn't be allowed to vote? Just because you live in a perfect world where everything is wonderful and everyone else is "careless", doesn't mean this is a true reflection of reality.

Do you always answer to the name "someone"? Might explain why you imagine people are stalking you.

The post was directed at me. It is very clear who you meant. Now that you're my boss, how about upping my salary?

So it's like a sort of national roll-out of SB1070? Nice.

I like the sound of "papers, please" nationwide. Good to keep the citizenry on their toes -- keeps our democracy strong.

Any person that fits the description you listed above is too stupid to vote. Problem solved.

The operative word being 'should'. As it stands, US Citizens, are not required by law to carry a photo ID, unless they are crossing a border checkpoint.

However, I disagree at the notion of 'id of some sort'. If we are to go the Soviet route, then every American should carry a passport which is the only picture ID that can effectively and unquestionably provide evidence of citizenship. DLs should not be accepted as anything other than a method to put a name and a picture together. They do not prove nor are they evidence of legal status or citizenship.

Having said that, Naturalization and Citizenship is afforded by the Constitution to the Federal Government.

So you're in favour of re-introducing tests to vote? Awesome! America under Teddy B is going to be super-cool.

(PS -- what if you yourself flunk?)

Edit: clarity
