Hi there,

My girlfriend came to visit me in the US on a standard 10y tourist visa. After being here for a few weeks, she has decided to stay.

After consulting with an immigration lawyer, we will be getting married and filling out the I130/I485 (plus the other few forms). Generally tourists are given a 90day stay so we were told to get married around 60-70 days.

However, last night we realized she was actually given a 180day stay. Because of this, could you see any reason we couldn't get married around 85 days and submit the forms immediately after that?

The immediate answer I would think is that it is fine, but I dont know if some other stipulation somewhere says the wedding and papers need to be submitted before 90 days.

(Or maybe none of this is as important as proving the intent was never to stay and we have a real relationship)

Thanks for your time!
